Noticed yesterday the big screen wern't on does anyone know if it will be used for Dons match's?

It'd seem like a waste if they don't use it for the Dons games. I was hoping it would have been in use last Sunday.

We need to be making the game day experience as good as possible for everyone and a few replays of key incidents would certainly help.

I'm not 100% sure whether it'll be getting used in preseason at all, and I think even if it will be, it won't be used to show replays..

Ye it would b a waste. Hope they start using it for when proper season starts would love to score a dodgy try and Fev fans see replay and start crying ha ha

Considering that they couldn't even get the totally inadequate scoreboards to work ... good luck with that.

I was going to say, lets try and get the scoreboard/clock working properly before we go over board!

I'd imagine having the ability to reply incidents on a big screen would be technically very difficult and require a number of people so I'd be surprised if that were to happen. Just having the teams on their before and the scores during the game would be enough

Well i think its the first time we've had the scoreboard crash on us, and i know its happened a hell of a lot more at Rovers games. Basically the computer stopped communicating with the scoreboard, the PC screen was correct and the clock ticking and young Sam updating the scores, it wasnt until a steward alerted us that the scoreboard still displayed 0-0. we then had to run some scripts from the pc to turn the scoreboards off and then reboot.

With regards the big screen, i was told today that we should be able to use it during the season, but it wont be used to show replays of the trys as they happen like it is used at Football. The reason being is that at football, the BBC are recording the full game, and it is the BBC stream which is used to quickly play replay the highlights as they happen. At Rugby there is obviously no BBC or SKY. I know they have attempted to use he clubs own cameras but it wouldnt play correctly. Dont rule anything out at the moment, there may be a fix there may not be.

But at the football, during the game, the score is displayed and every 30 seconds or so a full screen advert (some animated) appears. I would imagine that could be a good source of income although its not currently making much for the footy.

I overheard a senior rovers official say the big screen was for the Dons as its needed for super league games

But we arent in Super League (YET!) and yes i understand all Super League clubs can show highlights on the big screen because SKY are filming the games, and they can use Skys feed...... Correct me if im wrong but at championship level I dont think sky are there!

No rob I meant if we finish in top 4 , and end up playing the super league sides .
