| Doncaster Rugby League Club has been awarded with a Success Parade and Reception by the Mayor of Doncaster, Peter Davies, following their successful 2012 season.
The Mayor is delighted with the efforts of the team which resulted in them securing the League Leaders Shield and their 16-13 victory over Barrow Raiders in the recent Championship One Grand Final.
The Dons have therefore been invited to enjoy an open top bus victory parade around the centre of Doncaster on Saturday 13th October.
The route of the parade is as follows:
- Exit the Keepmoat Stadium at approximately 11:15am and proceed along Lakeside Boulevard
- Turn right on to Gliwice Way, past ASDA Supermarket
- Turn left on to Bawtry Road and proceed to Racecourse roundabout
- At the roundabout enter Bennetthorpe and on to South Parade
- Turn left on to Waterdale and right on to Wood Street
- Turn right on to Printing Office Street and then right onto Priory Place
- Turn right on to the High Street and pull up outside the Mansion House at approximately 12:00pm
On arrival at Mansion House there will be welcoming speeches by the Mayor and representatives from the club. There will be an opportunity for the players to sign autographs and chat with the crowd.
The players will then enter the Mansion House and there will be an opportunity for members of the press to take group photographs on the main staircase.
The players will then proceed to the Ballroom, where their partners and spouses will be awaiting their arrival.
There is a balcony where players are able to go out and acknowledge the crowd and the bus will return the players to the Keepmoat Stadium.
The Dons are urging their fans and supporters to turn out in big numbers for this prestigious event to support the player's and coaching staff who have done both the club and town of Doncaster proud in 2012.
