Another defeat 20-40 for a weakened Dons side in front of a pathetic crowd of 192.

The game was only livened by the antics of Andy Hobson .

Im not sure if league weekly need a report for this game. But still had a word with tony after the game, didnt realise he had made seven changes since Sunday. Basically he admitted he was surprised how strong a side Blackpool had fielded. He makes no apologies for changing the side so much, insisting he needs to give players coming back from injury some much needed game time. I asked if he treated tonights game as a friendly.

To which he replied, he is looking at the bigger picture, we are out of the cup, and we need to pick up in the league. He is also very confident about beating York on sunday even though they are one of the best teams in the division.

I have to be honest, and I had not seen Tony as happy as this in a long, long, time. He also has a new training team. And players not picked on the friday will be going to the Dome for a long fitness session.

I wonder if it would be a good thing to get the interview videoed and put on the website, not sure if it is possible. But they are good interesting things. a lot of what is said to us in the press room, does get edited out

Danny Stanley & Aaron Henry had decent games tonight . I would like to see Danny starting a game with either Bovill or Bates .

Why can't we complain ....they were terrible?
This game is a joke.

Right..... we have rested players for the York game.......fair play.
But this had better not backfire.
Blackpool IMHO will be the top side in the division so tonight was not too bad.....but the clock is ticking!!!!!!
I will be there against York and I expect a win......seemples.

Where do they get these officials from?
The standard so far this season has been dire in this league. I know a Cas fan who is always moaning about the refs but he should think himself lucky not to be saddled with these jokers we get stung with.

On a different note i suggest Andy Hobson consults an anger management specialist or retires if he can't hack it!

Some of our tackling late on in the middle of the pitch was just brilliant to behold.
''Get down"......there were some beauties....the lads were really fired up. Much longer and someone would have had to walk....it was brutal.....but it sure as hell galvanised the tiny crowd.
Worth the entrance money alone it was.
I bet there were some bruises this morning.
Liam Brown kept clattering in DESPITE already having an injured leg.

On a slight downer .....our left side defence (particularly centre and winger) were made to look silly last night. They were waltzing by them...it must have happened for about four tries.
Although to be fair Blackpool were just blatantly throwing forward passes and the ref and his useless linesmen did nothing to prevent repetitions.
I seriously considered walking out at one point because of the appalling standard of this referee.....but the effort from the lads kept me in my seat.

The left side defence needs to be addressed as a matter of urgency before the York game.....if anyone of influence is reading this.....please!
That aside it was a cracking display by the lads.....in relative terms.

Here here

It was the first time this season there'd been any "handbags" and I was happy with the response. Backed each other up and came out the other side responding with bigs hits. We need to start Sunday the way we finished yesterday.

After every game I just thinking back to the odd key moment or two that seemed to go against us and take the game out of our hands, surely that has got to change soon!

I still feel a win is not far off, and the key to that win will be creating tries when we start within their 20, rather than scoring all long distant efforts

You're right there......we are scoring some spectacular (individualistic) tries and not scoring the short yardage (team) tries. in fact we are poor in that area.

PS I don't know if has been mentioned ......for those that didn't go.... the crowd was 192 icon_sad.gif

PPS The referee has let it be known that there was a mistake on the team sheet.....it said Referee T Roby.....it should have said Ropey.

Thought the best try of the evening was Ellerys, given that there was no way that Danny Stanley should have been allowed to offload that close to the tryline.

In my opinion, there are far more positives to take from the game than negatives, our defensive effort at times was truly outstanding, and we only let tries in in the last 10 minutes because that effort had taken so much out of us.
If we can manage to keep that sort of effort up for a full game, and couple it with the likes of Bovill, Leaf and Steen returning to the team, then we will win more games than we will lose.

I felt a lot better after watching last nights performance, than I did after the South Wales game, there appears to be some light at the end of the tunnel now.

He's not alone there ... Carl Hall told us last night to bring our 'winning voices' with us on Sunday. icon_smile.gif

I thought some of the replacements were better than some of those that didn't play.......and that it should be on a merit basis who plays against York.
