Probably a more sensible approach than the talk of a Super-League Franchise that we've heard from the club over the past five or six years.

Every time the Franchise is mentioned by the club--everything goes downhill a few weeks later.

In an ideal world it would be great to achieve---but realistically were a million miles away at this moment in time.

The problem is that the majority of Doncaster people will only support a team (Whatever the Sport) thats winning week in week out at the highest level.

looks like they are trying to find the fastest way to send us back down, this is the last season ticket i am having. a club with no ambition and no future

been from hull , theres players all over at different clubs as the sport is strong in hull as it always has been, even 20 years ago when i played at york 6 of us came from hull , more from castleford and leeds not many york lads and we got promoted and got to challenge cup semi final, so you recruit to the best playing staff you can, i feel money is going to be the down fall ,as in most sports you cannot operate without it, and players leaving the club at this time in the season it doesnt look good . even at scholarship level this season players have left and gone to other super league clubs due to the way the club handled things and the problems seem to keep mounting in the club. when my son came to the club last year on scholarship i really though the club was on the up and craig harrison had a buzz about him, then ellery as coach ,lost owner, coach and now more players ,how things have changed now

Lets not forget the good work of Dave Marshall, when Dave came to the club I understand he was employed to promote rugby league in the Doncaster community.

I feel that without Dave we wouldnt have a club after Craig Harrison dumped the club when it was at its highest peak for years (I would think a decent man would have kept quiet for at least 24 hours after the game).

I can only assume Dave is nt earning a fortune as Chief Exec and has done really well keeping the club going.

If anything I feel it is now the time that the 3 companies which are reported to have developed a 3 year plan for the club should come to the fore.

If these companies are serious they need to look at completely restructuring the club and if necessary getting rid off any sentiment for the past and bring in new faces at all coaching levels to prevent possible infighting and plotting. Most importantly we need an experienced marketeer.

I feel we probably missed a trick not going to Castle Park which may have led to some kind of rugby partnership.

ANYWAY I FEEL DAVE REALLY DESERVES OUR APPRECIATION OTHERWISE WE WOULD N'T HAVE GOT THIS FAR.

Yes as stated earlier, I accept there is a greater number of players from the Hull area because of the strength of the game in the Hull area compared with Donny Fact is, from what Ive seen so far the ones turning out for the reserves (who we must agree on in theory are the future of the club) are no better than the local lads who are being kept not only out of the starting line up, but not even making the bench. At least 2 of these are cracking teenage talents already playing open age and on scholarships. They are much more likely to stick with the club in my opinion than lads from outside the area (re the origin of this thread) who will get fed up with the travelling involved for little return.
From where Im standing the clubs about to go tits up again and this time may not recover.

the club should look closer to home for players i agree , and local players should be given a chance to show what they can offer, i hope the club can get though these times , this season was always going to be hard , on and off the field

Who are these two cracking teenagers who cant make the bench. did you go to the reserve game on Thursday?

how many of your doncaster scholarship players at 16s are good enough to go up a level? only 2 ?if good enough why are they not snapped up ?this should tell you how good your scholarship is, and most clubs bring in players from other areas ,normally around half of squad good enough if recruitment is right

Bailey and Richards. And no I didn't go on Thursday but Ive seen the other games and if it was the same York side who played at Toll Bar they were no great shakes. 4 defeats from 4 including 2 against them tells its own tale.

We don't actually have any relegation rivals.
We are going down.....whoever cares to join us is their worry.
Batley and Doncaster are effectively relegated...NOW!
The rest can relax.
Sheffield and Gateshead are too good to go down.
We and Batley have to perform at better than previous for the rest of the season....it's not going to happen.
So none of it matters.....let them all go.

Indeed a sad day, we should just cut our losses and give up now.

Reading the Batley site they have had Karl Harrison working for free....A proven Super League and coach who has won promotion from the national leagues working for free on a very small budget.

I think my personal association with the club is now coming to an end.

No-one is too good to go down. And from what i've seen this season, we aren't very good anyway.

We've just given away 2 of our better players to teams in the same league.

While I get your point I don't think it been an entirely free willed diecsion to just give these (or the others to follow) players away for the hell of it or as part of what was percieved as a mangement decision, but the decisions have been made very badly at soime stage for this to happen by any means

But regardless of that it is indeed very very demoralising




Saying all that, we've had worse individual circumstances, but it keeps happening and happening and that's what get's to us the most
