Thanks for the feedback Chunkster. I'd guessed the ground and facilities would be a good selling point to potential players.

The point i was trying to make is that players see what the club has to offer ,when Kyle Sampson signed for us he had an offer from Fev, after veiwing the stadium he said he wanted to sign.Hence we signed a good player as he wanted to play in a first class stadium week in week out.Unless you have been in some of the other stadiums changing and shower rooms you cant realise how good ours are.Most sides dressing rooms would be under par for an amature club never mind a semi pro team. Money at this level is not the only motivator in a players decision where he signs, and playing at the KM has to be a plus in our favour. We dont throw money at players like some clubs do so good facilities can help to bridge the pay gap.

As long as I am a supporter ... the Dons will always have the best house.



And sorry to be negative ... but Kyle Sampson (for such a big and athletic bloke) has been a huge disappointment.



Back to increasing support, pre-season friendlies have not been a help either.
We have either played at Hunslet away (wow!) or let a big club come here and put 50 by us for the revenue.

One game should be the Eagles at the Keepmoat for the South Yorkshire Cup.

My sympathy is with the club, it is just so difficult to make the right decision. It's easy for a smart@rse like me.

the vast majority of players at this level want to a) earn as much pin money as possible to help them along ,b) play at the highest possible level on a regular basis and c) have the minimum amount of hassle with the travelling & logistics etc

Going back to my sporting days when men were men and the bog paper was always Izal,I didn't give a monkeys if the sh@thouse was large ,medium or small - all I wanted to do was play but play a my highest possible level with the best players around me giving me and the team the best chances of actually winning something to help make it all worthwhile
The bogs,changing rooms and pitch were irrelevant..............

Money may be your god pal but a lot of players and staff at clubs dont have the same values as you. Yes it is good when you can make a large amount of money for playing a game you love,but pride and passion for a team go a long way as well ,if players were purely money motivated they would not be at Donny i can assure you of that.

Why do you have to insult people by saying that their post is idiotic. You asked a question regarding the Keepmoat Stadium and the guy (who is a very important part of the club) took his time to try and explain, so why the insulting response?

On the matter of the staying at the Keepmoat, IMO The Dons should remain at the Keepmoat and I'm pretty confident that the blokes who run the Dons would want that as well. It's looking more and more likely that there will be new owners of the Stadium and of course things may change for the Dons Management as to the rental agreement etc, but I really hope we have a future there.

Chunkster was offering an informed insight into the club and we should respect his view.

Thanks for the support guys, i have large shoulders and can take the flack from the odd know all , i refuse to lower the tone by engaging in a slanging match, if any one wants to discuss my posts i will be more than happy to speak to them in person , especially you Sanjunien. People come on here saying they dont get any information from the club,all i try to do is give a fair and honest opinion on what is happening regarding the lads. It is not my intention to rattle anyones cage ,but obviously on this occation i have upset a former rugby league god who has taken exception to my views which is fine ,and i dont have a problem with that. Ask any of the players here why they signed for the club and i bet not one of them will say they signed for the money.



ps The rent at the Keepmoat is very reasonable as we have a deal with the council

I can't see what the fuss is.
Chunkster and sanjujien are both right in their own way.
sanjunien is right that in most cases players will just go to where the better deal is.
But Chunkster is also right, that if a player is faced with two very similar deals, he will be swayed by the facilities and the set-up.

that's quite simple mate - I have no idea who chunkster actually is in real life - it could be Carl for all I know ? the fact is I found his/her posts idiotic that's why I used the word 'idiot' - it's not a difficult concept to comprehend.
I have absolutely no idea about the KM stadium agreement with the council though certain posters have previously inferred it's been a bit of a millstone for the club.So what's the craic with the stadium ?
I still belive it's ridiculous to state that a player will chose a nice new stadium with big toilets and luxurious changing rooms in a lower league instead of a higher standard of competition unless,as I said there are other circumstances involved ie travel,work or family commitments or that player cannot be guaranteed regular first team appearances (would he have been a automatic choice for Fev ?) or indeed that the player concerned maybe lacks ambition and is quite happy to chug along at a lower level...

I dont agree with a lot of things posted by people on here slagging the club, we are all on the forums because we love the game, i along with most of the coaching and backroom staff work for nothing ,our reward is being involved with a club we all love and want to see succeed. Carl is doing his job very well and keeping us out of debt which is a lot more than can be said for other clubs. So for someone to say that everyone in the game is in it for the money p#sses me off. No i dont and your sponsorship of players is a great gesture.The point i was trying to get across was that yes players want to play at the highest level but if you have two clubs offering similar deals then playing at the km has to go in our favour.
