Well i think its the first time we've had the scoreboard crash on us, and i know its happened a hell of a lot more at Rovers games. Basically the computer stopped communicating with the scoreboard, the PC screen was correct and the clock ticking and young Sam updating the scores, it wasnt until a steward alerted us that the scoreboard still displayed 0-0. we then had to run some scripts from the pc to turn the scoreboards off and then reboot.

With regards the big screen, i was told today that we should be able to use it during the season, but it wont be used to show replays of the trys as they happen like it is used at Football. The reason being is that at football, the BBC are recording the full game, and it is the BBC stream which is used to quickly play replay the highlights as they happen. At Rugby there is obviously no BBC or SKY. I know they have attempted to use he clubs own cameras but it wouldnt play correctly. Dont rule anything out at the moment, there may be a fix there may not be.

But at the football, during the game, the score is displayed and every 30 seconds or so a full screen advert (some animated) appears. I would imagine that could be a good source of income although its not currently making much for the footy.

I overheard a senior rovers official say the big screen was for the Dons as its needed for super league games

But we arent in Super League (YET!) and yes i understand all Super League clubs can show highlights on the big screen because SKY are filming the games, and they can use Skys feed...... Correct me if im wrong but at championship level I dont think sky are there!
