Quote: Wanderer "Wonderful performance from all concerned at the Club. On the pitch superb from 1 to 17. Just a fantastic evening!

Another great game and a big thanks to every player they really stuck at it and Workington were out on their feet by the end. The stayaways are missing some great entertainment.

I haven't seen any posts on the Town forum that blames anbody but themselves for losing the game. Yes, it has been questioned as to why one trip was put on report and another one wasn't, but both are being viewed by the disciplinary review panel, which answers that point.

Most posters have said that Doncaster were the better team and outplayed us on the night, just as we did at Workington to your team. You are coming across as a "graceless winner"!!!!!!!!!

I'll admit I'm sour GeeKay, but thats nothing to do with the game last Thursday (which we completely dominated).

What I am sour about is how Workington got a Rugby League World Cup game. An appalling ground that requires £500,000 being spent on it, just to get it to a minimum standard. Yet the Keepmoat Stadium, the best stadia outside of Super League (and actually better than many Super League grounds) gets nothing.

Doncaster has fantastic transport infrastructure networks, but we don't get selected as we are in South Yorkshire. Another ridiculous decision by the inept individuals running the rugby league.

Did your local authority apply for a game at the Keepmoat, originaldragon? The Scotland team is going to be based in West Cumbria and at first it was going to be a joint bid between the two local authorities, Allerdale (Workington) & Copeland (Whitehaven) with any games going to be held in the new stadium at Whitehaven and the Scottish team staying in Workington.

For whatever reason Copeland decided to go for it alone but it transpired that they couldn't guarantee that their stadium would be ready (or even built) by October 2013. It was at that point that Allerdale council and Workington Town put in a bid to rescue the World Cup matches that had already been allocated to Whitehaven.

We all wish that we could have a nice stadium such as the Keepmoat (didn't you have a Challenge Cup semi-final there) and maybe one day our area will get something tangible instead of the lips service we are used to on so many other matters. Anyone who has travelled to our part of the country will know it takes 40 minutes to get to a motorway. Our area had quite a lot of sorrowful events in the past 3 years or so, the Whitehaven shootings, the Workington Floods that took away all our bridges (we hope that our new bridge will be open in September from November 2009) and then the school bus crash, so it's nice to get the likes of the World Cup for the area not just for our dilapidated stadium.
