Does anyone have any idea what our squad will be for Monday? Nothing on the Club site yet.

Vikings from: Ah Van, Allen, Brown, Cahill, Clarke, Craven, Flynn, Hanbury, Hock, Isa, Kavanagh, Leuluai, Marsh, Mellor, O'Carroll, Owens, Pickersgill, White, Winterstein.

So hock, brown and marsh return.

Injured: phelps, cross, Joseph, Gerrard.

A better 19 than against Wigan, which suggests that we can put out a decent 17. One weakness will be in the centres. Marsh coming back is great news, but the continued absence of Phelps and the loss of Dean means we are likely to go with Isa, who to be fair didn't play badly against Wigan, but he just doesn't offer very much in attack.

My guess would be Hanbury, Ah Van, Isa, Marsh, Owens, Brown, Mellor, O'Carroll, Clarke, Pickersgill, Hock, Allen, Cahill, with White, Winterstein, Kavanagh and Leuluai on the bench.

Unless DB decided to go for a more radical reshuffle with Owens at fullback, Ah Van and Flynn on the wings Marsh and Brown in the centres, Hanbury at 6 and Mellor at 7, forwards and bench as above! It would be nice to be able to fit Craven in on the bench to give him the chance to redeem himself after a poorish game against Wigan, but I am not sure that we can swap either White or Leuluai for him at the moment, given we only have 3 recognised props!

And Dean. Pity as he has been playing well this year.

Like the shape of your second set of backs but suggest that Betts will go for your first choice 17 with Flynn and Craven missing out.

Flynn hasn't been training with the Widnes squad so will more than likely miss out this game, if not the rest of the season.

I realise that he was dropped for the Wigan game (I assume because of the tries scored by Catalan from the PTB right on our line on his wing) he played and scored for Workington that weekend, so maybe DB has said for him to get some game time there. But if that is the case why even include him in the 19? (unless we didn't have anyone else!)

Its a shame as he hasn't really been able to get his partnership going with Marsh!

Fair question, particularly as Lawton isn't in the squad.

Or Craven. Craven has played in the centre before, and I would be inclined to choose Flynn before Isa any day.

I could understand the possibility of him not getting another game this season whilst Owens is in good form, but why not training with the squad?

Leeds squad for Monday, taken from a Link on Leeds page
(article is dated 3:05pm today, though Sinfield now confirmed out for 6 wks)

"The full nineteen is; Ablett, Baldwinson, Burrow, Clarkson, Hall, Hardaker, Jones-Bishop, Jones-buchanan, Keinhorst, Kirke, Leuluai, McShane, Minns, Moon, Moore, Peacock, Sinfield, Singleton, and Sutcliffe"

A few tired bodies in there I reckon!!

Dean will be a big loss IMO. Even just his mid game versatility never kind the good vein of form he's been in.

Can't be doing with these mad ideas to play propel everywhere but their best positions! No need. Pick best available (form included) in their best spots.

Hanbury
Owens
Marsh
Isa
Ah Van
Brown
Mellor

Happy days icon_wink.gif

I remain unconvinced by Isa. Having said that, his performance against Wigan was probably his best in a Widnes shirt. Has he passed his watershed and will now play that well each week?
