Denis Betts has named the following 23-man squad for the pre-season trial game versus Swinton Lions at Leigh Sports Village on Sunday 8 January. Recently appointed captain Jon Clarke, vice-captain Shaun Briscoe and Rhys Hanbury are all set to make their debuts for the Vikings.

I hope you are kidding? 
I watched the Boxing Day game in depth the other day and he was one of our best players. In fact, though I think Scott Moore looked like he is going to be amongst our most influential, his distribution from hooker was much better than Moore's from acting half.
I also noticed that Ian Cheveau awarded Coyle with the Widnes motm in the League Express.

Should be a tough game, with quite a few ex-Widnes players with a point to prove. Swinton look quite strong anyway, so I'm not expecting us to hammer them. I do feel, as a Super League side, we should be expecting a win.
Then again, I would imagine that Salford fans felt the same before kick off yesterday. |
