A very busy and fruitful day on the recruitment front here at the Stobart Stadium, Halton.

Terry O'Connor, who has worked long and hard in negotiating terms with Wigan Warriors for the services of three of their brightest prospects, commented:

"Shaun Ainscough and Liam Farrell will be here as part of our Dual Registration quota for 2010. Ben Davies is with us initially on a three month loan. All three of these lads are the type of quality British players we are looking to see play and nurture here at the Vikings.

* Shaun is a real flying machine on the left side with his 17 tries in Super League for the Warriors in 2009 underlining his quality.



* Liam is a loose forward with genuine Super League potential and Paul Cullen and I have been watching his progression with immense interest for a while now.



* Ben Davies is one of the best young props in the British game. He has already toured with England's Academy and will without doubt be a Super League starter very soon.

This arrangement between the clubs will strengthen the Viking's 2010 playing squad and allow the talented young Wigan players to experience some regular Senior First Team football.

We would like to extend a big thank you to Ian Lenagan, Michael McGuire, Shaun Wayne and Kris Radlinski for making these deals possible. The Wigan club have been thoroughly professional in their dealings throughout our negotiations."

Ian Lenagan, the Wigan Chairman, commented:

"The deal is good for the individual players, for the Wigan Club and for Widnes whom we hope to see in Super League in the future. The Dual Registrations mean either Shaun or Liam can return intermittently to play for Wigan at any time based upon form or injuries and the rest of the time, like Ben, get Senior rugby experience with Widnes."

All sounds very positive. See I don't mind dual signings as long as we are not tied to any club in a bond which could be described as a feeder club. We're helping the future of the game and getting something out of it to boot. But the choice should always be ours as to which players we take on and from where.

Would prefer them to be permanent signings but they will give us the depth we require and we should be seen as real contenders for honours with who we have in the squad now.

Ainscough will be a great signing for us.

All 3 are top signings, all 3 will become England players in the future.

You've done some good business there. 3 good signings that will make Widnes a success this season.

can't say much more than what has already been said already but for those of you that don't already know Farrell was the reserve team player of the year last year following on from Sam T the season before Ainscough doesn't need much of a description 17 in 12 appearances 4 in one cup game i can see him getting 20+ next season dare i say it 30+ depending on how often we need him for your sake hopefully not alot and Davies to me on occasions reminds me of a young O'Connor he will take some stopping 30 yard out never mind 5 or 10 yard we expect great things from all 3 in the future so look forward to this year because i've no doubt they and Widnes will win something this year i'm tipping Ainscough to be top try scorer in your division by some distance. P.S excuse the grammar not one of my strong points

Thrilled to bits to get these 3, all will enhance us no end and ainscough in particular is a cracking signing.

I've watched all these three come through the ranks at academy and reserve level. All three represented England on their last academy tour to Australia.
If you think Ben Kavanagh was a good signing then you will be delighted with these three, because they are better even players.
