I have no bitterness towards Salford and it was the Ginger prick who started the thread from Salford?So we accept his words against our club on a Widnes forum?Somehow i do not think so.Widnes deserve a licence and will do well in a few yrs in Superleague.

Erm... I could be wrong, but I suspect they will use a strategy called "sign better players". They do of course need to be careful to avoid the Leigh strategy of 2005, which was "buy considerably worse players" and the general Salford strategy of "Sign mediocre players like Feka and shout from the rooftops about your soil samples"

I do not care to be honest, as he is a prick when got no facts, and knows nothing about the Championship.He is blinkered to what we have to do, to satisfy the Rfl.Once in Superleague we can buy top players.So this ginger prick can jog on.

I'm not one for going on other clubs boards, it doesn't float my boat but each to their own. Although I have to say I do get a kick out of people coming on here and slagging us off without foundation. It must prove we are doing things right. People are scared of us. We've not made the rules folks, some people are forgetting that. We are simply doing what is asked of us in order to meet the RFL criteria. The fact off-field criteria is a major factor is hugely important for us given the "men in grey suits" culture at the club that we had for years is now gone. We've not just got business people involved but top professionals. Exciting times for Widnii.

Another numpty Salford fan.There is scousers everywhere and i am sure one or two in Manchester.When i was based in Weymouth on the south coast their was scousers.So because you spoke to a lady with a scouse accent that does not mean Widnes people are scousers.I am in the Army and work in Gloucester , when guess where i am from they say Manchester.Does it matter a lady in Widnes had a scouse accent?

The only people in Widnes who speak with a broad Scouse accent, would be someone who is actually a Scouser, and not actually a Widnesian. If I had spoken to a man with a german accent, who lives in Salford, would it be right to assume that all people from Salford sound like Germans?

If we were Scousers, then our club would’ve called us the ‘Liverpool Vikings’ and we would’ve walked into SL as an expansion club, and remained there forever and a day.

Widnes undoubtedly, imo, deserve that SL place, going by current RFL rules and regs. If you want to discuss whether they REALLY deserve it, then go ahead.

The first line was ok the rest was WUM speak, if wanted to discuss franchising and our good / bad points in app fine but this was just a Salford fan stopped worrying about the drop and deciding to take the pish!

Richardviking, seems to be on a high moral ground hopping trip at the moment.

Wardley Red has not exactly been diplomatic about us in the past - he doesn't come on here with a clean slate and his motivation was to wind up, pure and simple. I've resisted posting about the faults of Salford in response, although we all know they are there by the grace of the BBC and an iconic stadium which has been scaled down and not even started yet. They harp on about being the right choice for super league last time, but they've been posting crowds which are verging on farcical and have not progressed on the pitch or off it since last time. They can count themselves very lucky that the BBC is moving close by and that Wakefields accounts are so often under scrutiny, because part of me thinks some of these signings they are making next season are nothing more than an attempt to keep scrutiny away from their bid because a ground isn't coming.

Crusaders have an excuse for poor crowds, what do Salford have? If you wanted to build up a club as being representative of the manchester area, I doubt such a poorly supported, poorly ran outfit is the right choice considering Wigan are in greater manchester.
