Can you have dual contarcts with more than 1 club? That would suit better as wouldn't look as much like a feeder club as we'd have the pick of 3 teams etc!

Jamie it said on contarct and confirmed as staying! There are players who have contracts for next year but NOT confirmed staying... Thacks isn't one of those from what's said!

Thacks shudn't be confirmed as staying cos he is not 100% staying yet.
remember that 1st sept is from when they can start talking to other clubs, i know he wants to play super league not national league and i am sure he will see whats out there first before deciding to stay at widnes.
you don't have to tell the club what your plans are therefore they will say that cos he IS under contract for another year!!

he wants to play superleague he left cas to come to widnes thinking they would get in superleague and they didn't, he has ambition unlike some players. Even tho the 1st deadline has been and gone they have till the end of the year still to sign for other clubs.

But only if they are out of contract. Thacks is still contracted to the club is he not and the announcement at the POM meeting last night seems to suggest that they have no intention of releasing him.

As they have alluded to elsewhere, other players whose Widnes futures are currently undecided were not mentioned so they certainly seem to think he is staying. Also.. didn't he sign at the beginning of this year when it was known that we wouldn't be in SL for another two years?

He didn't quite cut it last time in SL and he's still young so IMO should stay on play 1st team week in week out na d be the key player ready for a return to the top flight in 2012

I agree he should stay but if he's only signed on for another year Widnes might not keep him if they get in superleague surley he has to secure his future, whether with widnes or another team?

Ford's a very good signing. Lets hope we can keep them coming. We could certainly do with a few heavyweights in the pack.

I'm glad he's doing well for you, he was a major influence on our promotion in 2007 and has a great running game and dummy. The only question mark he has at sl level is his defence, but with time i'm sure he can sort that out.

ps are you trying to take over from fev as the place where all the ex cas players go

He's one of the best defending halfs in this division... Though his technique could do with a tad more work he's certainly 1 tough cookie!

Credit to the lad he's realised his weakness from his SL days and is woring to improve it, rather than whinge etc... top stuff!

P.s. No as we only take the young good one's with hot prospects

Not really a lot to add to that.. his defence is very good and has obviously improved since he was at Cas.

He certainly had an impact that year for you, if for no other reason than it gave Brough a firm kick up the derrier. He throws an awesome dummy!!!!!

Will be quite frank, not really seen anything of the lad, but comes with high recommendation so that'll do. COuld pair up well with young Paddy.

Not offering him a deal? bit silly that IMO, one of the best if not the best second rower in the divison. Granted if we havent got the money then fair enough but ill be sad to see fletch go.

Unless we are brining in someone of a similar level and younger I won't be too happy!
