I think it is an utter disgrace the attitude of the team on sunday. If I'd have known that widnes had the "we have ticked the box" so lets not turn up attitude. I would have saved myself a 600 mile round trip and 10hour drive.
Yeh we have ticked the box, but our performance over the last few seasons has not been the best. How can we develop as a club when we let good players go and keep dead wood. we need to have a good look at the way we play. we could have played for a whole weekend and not scored against barrow. Too many times this season we look clueless going forward, when are we going to come up with new ideas and plays.
Against barrow we were outplayed and out classed. I dont mind losing when they try, but there was no fight on sunday they didnt look interested.
If we are going to be competitive then we need to have a good look at ourselves, look at how other teams have kicked on and progressed. I know these teams have not ticked the box but they are up there competing.
Does being able to tick the box stop a team from challenging with other teams in the league because it seems that way.
I don't see any promising signs for next season it will be another struggle into the playoffs again
Why let smithy go it does not make sense
I know people are going to shoot me down
This is how I feel'"
Not going to shoot you down.. you went the game so you have the edge on me there and I think most fans that went or listened on the radio would agree it was a disgrace.
Likewise... letting Smithy go is a terrible decision in my eyes.
In terms of ticking the box... not sure how much this contributed to this season over and above the injuries that we had, and the tragic circumstances surrounding Paul Cullen.
All I can offer is that the signings being mooted seem very positive indeed.. rather than us lying down and doing nothing next season it seems we might be building a very good side indeed. I will wait and see but this season hasn't finished yet so don't become too disheartened.
