It’s 5yrs as it was on news this morning….how the hell Sinfield hasn’t got one is beyond me yet him who does GLastonbury gets knighted…Baffling to say least

Sir Michael Eavis. Apart from the positive cultural benefit the festival brings it also raises a couple of million quid annually for charity.

If we must have an honours system then people like Eavis and Sinfield such be recogised, my issue is with political cronies being rewarded. And don't get me started on life peerages.

Is it though?

A previous PM nominated his old man for a knighthood. It was turned down. Remarkably however, he did manage to secure his "special advisor" aged only thirty a life peerage. No need for achievement or service in her case that's for sure. Curiously many have pointed out that she is the daughter of one of his many of his ex's and indeed bears an uncanny likeness to the man himself.

Then there's the rather odd appointment of Lord Levedev of Hampton and errrr .....Siberia. To those unfamiliar with Lord Levedev check out his history. It makes for interesting reading.
