| Dead rubber game, we'll play like a giant dogs egg because it's September, hopefully Tag will get a good send off.

| Play to win, don't want to go into next season on the back of 6 straight defeats, happened a few years ago and affected the start of the next season, so much pressure to win a game, remember the relief at the GP win at Wigan.
Saying that, be happy to see a few underperforming players not play, certainly no need for Lovodua and Dywer, possible Lane too

I'll just be glad when the season is over full stop.

| Got shirt ready. Got to be honest be glad when season over. This year was about a clear out and not get in a relagation dogfight. Still disappointed how we have fallen away as when I went to Wigan I really thought we might get into the battle for 6 th place. Saying that we just are not good enough to compete every week as now been proven.

cartoons/WB17.gif I've been on the internet and have already got a sense of the fans' passion for the club. They are very fanatical - Peter Gentle 12th September 2011.
Money doesn't talk it swears, Obscenity who really cares, Propaganda all is phony.
I'm the son and heir of a shyness which is criminally vulgar.
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way.

| Ah, yes. The much-vaunted 'battle for ninth'. It's what every player/coach/owner/supporter dreams of being involved in!!!
A match to be played out between the only two teams out of the twelve in SL who, officially, have nothing still to play for (even if for a couple of other teams it's no more than a distant hope and pray).
This has the air of last rites about it, and like many others on here, I will be glad when we are done and dusted with 2023.
Having said that, I'm in agreement with a couple of posters above, in that ending the year with six straight defeats is not a good mood setter. We have seen in the past, 2019 in particular, how the hangover can carry on into the start of the following season. For that reason alone, a win on Saturday would be most welcome.
I'm hoping the sunshine returns to Hull come weekend, both literally and metaphorically, and we have an enjoyable afternoon's entertainment to send us on our way! I do not spend my time and money to sit/stand watching my team be steamrollered, no matter what the circumstances, heaven knows we've all had enough of those at the back end of recent years .
A heavy defeat is dispiriting for all, even if it is irrelevant in the context of the season as a whole.
One of the things that we all agree needs to change at our club is this in-built attitude which sees the club seemingly down tools as soon as there appears to be no point in continuing. It's situations like the one we find ourselves in at the present moment , and our attitude to that situation, which is a microcosm of the root cause of what is wrong with the club and why we continue to under-achieve year on year.
Like I said, let's hope the sun shines come Saturday afternoon

| Another disappointing end to another mediocre season.
Barring a spell of 6-7 games, I’ve seen nothing to suggest that we are any better off than the last five years.
Obviously happy to give Tony more time, just struggle to share the optimism for next season that others appear to have.

One positive is next years signings are younger, RL is increasingly a younger players game and our bad signings over the last few years have usually been the 30+ players.
Things will take time its like turning around an oil tanker. One more failed rebuild and the fans will turn on Pearson though.

| I think we should play Taylor Satae and Swift so we can say goodbye. Clifford should be playing so we can thank him for his performances albeit for a short time. Balmforth should be reminded of first team standards by playing- he can shape up then for next season.
Among these essentially experienced guys perhaps a few of the likely first teamers coming up from the youth could appear. Or are the reserves playing in which case forget the latter?
A loss doesn’t matter a performance does!

I agree to an extent, but we would not benefit at all from a defeat, even less a heavy one, so for me we play the best 17 we can muster, it is important not to dispel any optimism and enthusiasm we as supporters have gleaned from a bad season. If we compete manfully and play to the last whistle, it will at least, show we are past the days of horrible blow out defeats, that we would certainly have endured in seasons gone.

If he doesnt give Balmforth a run off the bench then Smith has lost the plot.
Also for next season we could link up with Doncaster once again if they get promotion back to the Championship.Much easier for the player to travel
