| There’s Rugby Union on both BBC & ITV, it’s been advertised for at least a week at prime times, rammed down our throats, HRH Harry has even popped up, lording how good it will be.
Undoubtedly the product itself will, as usual, disappoint, but boy the RFL and Super league are a million miles off, when it comes to showcasing our superior game, as usual we are being underwhelmed by those who purportedly represent our development and marketing.
It’s been so marvellous, the all round build up, I was even tempted to watch it, luckily I had my sporting needs quenched by the brilliance of Joe Root, and Stokesy again.
Rugby league needs a new dynamic at the top, hope the horse racing is on.

Have you seen the current advert for The RL World Cup? It’s very well done and builds a bit of momentum but it’s not doing it’s job if terrestrial or digital companies refuse to carry it or charge the earth to. All the time the establishment treat our game poorly what can the RFL do. Back when RU was perceived as an amateur sport lol, played by graduates, doctors and gentlemen farmers, there was a saying often used by commentators “ Rugby Union is an animals game played by gentlemen, Rugby League is a gentlemen’s game played by animals” I don’t truly think the stigmatism has gone away.

| Since Bunter of Grey-friars, nothing changes, whilst the big twenty five stone props, stand puffing and tugging on their shirt emblems, and tears of swing lo ring out, news at ten will relay it all again, drooling how magnificent it all was.

| Union don't chop and change their structure and events every 5 minutes like Rugby League does. Its February so its 6nations time as it has been for decades, teams are playing at home in their capital cities where the sport is popular in traditional kits. Its easy for casual fans to understand (even if the action itself is inferior)
With international league you have no idea when or where England will play next, after a successful 2013 world cup where they did get media attention they didn't play at home for over a year and then have only played a handful of times at home since.
We split Great Britain up with the intention of making 4 stronger teams yet the home nations rarely play each other and Scotland and Wales don't even play at home most of the time. So the whole change from GB to England was pointless.
I've also found in recent years my friends who are only casual fans of league have lost interest due to the ever changing format, you have to explain if the season will be splitting off into different leagues, why the playoff structure keeps changing, why there aren't draws anymore and people just switch off.

| Imagine investing all that money for people to watch that embarrassing crap, hopefully watching that might drive people to watch rugby league instead.

England rolls off the tongue easier, I think that's one reason, but soccer and RU have England, if it was GB Lions it wouldn't be as easy for me to support The Kangaroos then, so hope it stays as England. Go The Roos!

I dont have an issue with the England branding as such, more the lack of doing anything with Wales, Scotland and Ireland which has made the rebranding of GB pointless.

I saw the HT score, listened to the babble by Wilkinson and Woodward then decided watching an inane US sitcom was far more worth my time. I'm guessing the Scottish won then?

You would be guessing correctly although I'd much rather see Twickenham over to the right as I walk across the Thames after a few pints in Richmond to watch the B&W's run out at The Stoop.
