8570.jpg Hull KR Chairman Neil Hudgell, August 26th, 2014 said..
"In fact, the days of us signing any players from across the river are over. Our fans are loyal, passionate and only interested in one club. Taking players from our nearest rivals doesn't fit in with that brief.":8570.jpg |

| One of the first players we signed from West Yorkshire in the 70's that started the FC revival .

| A tough, skilful forward and a great leader. If he hadn't come to Hull, knocker, Charlie Stone and Sammy Lloyd wouldn't have come and the glory years of the 80s might never have happened
RIP Vince

| Very sorry to hear this. Apart from being a very good player - good enough to get international selection when at Hull, his signing paved the way for the future top class signings from West Yorkshire from the iconic Knocker onwards. Before Farrar signed Hull couldn't persuade top players to join them, after many followed and a golden era followed. The importance of his signing and the knock on effects can't be underestimated. On top of that always regarded as a great character off the pitch as well.

| Saw him play in home games for Cronulla back in 1974 a couple of years or so before he joined Hull. He only played around 20 games for the Sharks.
He struggled with the pace of the Aussie game but made up for it with solid effort and great off loading skills.
Was a popular player with the fans who loved his whiter than white legs!
RIP Vince.

| Excellent pack-leading, ball-handling prop forward.
Arthur Buntings most significant signing.

| Fantastic player from an era when props could pass (not throw the ball blindly backwards) whilst being battered in the tackle.

Agree with above, very good ball handler and tons of experience at the highest level.
I was just watching the Calander special on Thursday about the 1980 cup final and he was there noticeable from the back by his hair colour and bald patch.
RIP Vince, your memory will live on in FC fans forever as part of that great side/era.
Here's a nice interview with Dick Tingle who used to write the match reports and all things FC in the HDM BITD.
