Been working hard by all accounts and looks to be paying off - thought he was very good today and putting himself in the frame should we not get Hadley, Ellis, Green and Bowden back for Wakefield. We need to be getting a couple of players emerging each year, think Matongo is maybe next in line but very young for a prop - Green is coming into his best form now at 26. Guess this is make or break year for Fash, Downs, Lancaster - Logan maybe will get longer given his serious injury?

How did he stand out? Work rate and big hits, or strong runs/breaks?

He's up against Mini and Manu, so in that sense he wasn't the best back rower on the park or anything, but the point was that he didn't look out of place against a pack that were pretty physical.

I like Jansin and i hope he makes the next level with Hull FC.
He is 1 year behind Ben Currie and two behind Bateman but i hope with regular game time he can catch up and become our own Bateman

If Lancaster was good enough I think we would have seen a lot more if him by now .

He is actually 2 years (20 months) and nearly 3 years younger than Currie and Bateman, he is only 20, but seems have been around for years, big year for him, should be looking at 10 plus aperences and think he has a real chance of getting a regular bench spot by the end of the year.

Only if we get plenty of injuries, cant see him getting much game time otherwise

Exactly. We saw the result of not rotating the forwards regularly, leading to a poor end to the season.

Turgut was always very highly thought of at junior level but everyone develops at different rates and physically he's maybe a bit behind where players like bateman and currie were at his age but they are exceptional players and not really the benchmark. Turgut has a good turn of pace and looks like he's grown a lot bigger in the last 12 months plus I hear his attitude is top notch so barring injury problems he'll come through and be a first team regular in the next 2 or 3 years. 20 is very young for a SL forward so there is no need to rush him

Thought on Sunday he looked like he'd put some size on

Not sure it will be plenty of injuries, for the first game without any injuries my bench would be Green, Hadley, Bowden and Washy (Although Radford might go with Connor), so one/two injuries to the forwards would see him in, I'd have him in front of Thompson for a start.
