Thanks for this weeks diary Wilf a tough one to write. The '74 game against Leeds will stay in the memory of everyone who was there, there's nowt like a bent ref to get the crowd going.
Spot on Lummy forgot all about that 8-4 and since the Diary went to press I remembered that terrible day at Huddersfield in 2000 when we lost to Leeds as well!!! Funny what your mind chooses to omit!
Good read as usual Wilf but I have to take you to task over your comment on Radfords team selection. Radders cannot win either way ,bring youngsters in and rest big names and lose he gets it in the back ,with a loss either way he gets it.The comment on Frank not being used the right way has been muted by many , do we really think that Radders cannot see this?On the game a lot of credit has to be given to Cas and Powell ,the way he used is interchanges was a master stroke ,he like everyone else saw our energy levels are down and brings on was it three or four at once and it was game over.I said before a ball was kicked that a defeat was on the cards, Cas at any time are good a fresh Cas with two weeks rest was always going to be a big ask after the semi final. The Widnes game will tell us a lot, a loss although not the end of the world will be a concern a good win will kick start us again ..keep the faith COYH
