| The scholarship academy teams are both at home (Bishop Burton) tonight
U16s v Wakefield at 5pm.
Probably the greatest name i've seen in rugby makes his debut tonight for them - Prince Theophilus Gandifere
U15s follow them at 7:30 v Leeds.
Another debut in this game, one to watch for is the COHA No1 Conner Wynne. For me he is one of the top players in the country for his age, one of the most naturally gifted all round players ive ever seen in youth rugby. Was overlooked in the initial scholarship selection, not for rugby reasons but for other matters but has worked hard and knuckled down to get into the set up. This kid can destroy teams single handed, I speak from personal experience.
Alex Holdstock , no 6 captains the team again, grandson of Roy and son of Dave. He's stepped up another level this year and is another kid who can go far in the game and if he's on top form then the centre and wing partnership of Kai Ruiz and Scott Benson will have some great chances.
On the Leeds side, watch our for the big No8 Tom Holdroyd, a beast of a lad who is only a U15 and plays for the all conquering Siddal team

Are any of these kids ring-fenced or are they the first batch of ones that are not with either side?

| All the ones in the U16 team who are playing v Wakefield are ring fenced, looking at the team most are for FC. Jack Brown, Robbie Storey, Callum Tranmer are the stand out names. The main one KR have is Adam Rooks. I think theres 30 players in their second year/last year scholarship, so will be a lot of cuts at end of July as the U19 academy has massive numbers too and we have to revert to only 1 team at U19 and 1 at U16 next year. The intake of U14s coming is is currently 16 players to make a 34 player squad iirc
The ones from my age group, U15s v Leeds, are not (apart from a couple of U16 lads chucked in to make the squads up).

How about Connor Wynne - you give him a lot of plaudits so would be good if he is ours

| Hes only been in the set up for a month or so but will be unattached.
Hes an East Hull lad, plays for Skirlaugh now and I think a KR fan, but I guess time will see which club if not both will go for him. A lot of time before that and the best players at 15 or younger don't always come to fruition and make the grade.
He's very much like Jamie Shaul, got amazing footwork off both feet, not the biggest but with strength of Fonua lol

| Alex plays with my lad at Cottingham Tigers. You are right, his game has improved no end over the past year or so, he has developed physically, has a real rugby brain and a fantastic attitude but on top of that you couldn't meet a nicer lad. If he carries on as he is he has a real chance of making it to the top. The only thing that lets him down (which you can understand given his family background) is that he supports the Dobbins

| U16s won, think it was 40-26. Stand out for me was the Wakey no 7, Josh Pindar. For us our 8 Harry Bardle had a strong game and 13 Josh Oliver had a fair graft
U15s were well beaten by a strong Leeds team, 60 odd 6 I think. Leeds had a mainly U16 team out, and their forwards very dominant, led by no 8 big Tom Holdroyd whose only 15 and No 11 Muizz Mustapha who put in quite a few physical hits. No 4 Jack Broadbent was pick of the outside backs.
Hard game for any of our lads to shine, but we picked up with the introduction of Jordan Webster off the bench at 9 and credit to one of my lads Ryan Dearing , no 15 who had to play at prop which isn't his usual role against a very physical team.
Play of the match went to our No 20 Elliot Wallis who chased back form the far wing (almost full diagnol of the pitch) to cut down a Leeds interception that you would have banked money on as a try, showed real pace

Thanks for that, it seems a bit odd for Leeds to play their 16's v Hull 15's.

| They are all classed as u16, for this year COHA are running 2 teams so one is mainly u15 lads.
Was told Leeds thought they were playing the other team, hence why brought a strong squad.
At this level it's all about learning and development so although a tough game it will show character and other things for the coaches to look at how the lads handle a more physical challenge I reckon
Couple more home games on wed nights on 6 and 20 July coming up
