| Firstly.... let me just says, I am fully aware we are only 9 games into the season and there is a long way to go.....
BUT
Massive well done for both the team and Radford for their response to the Widnes disintegration. 4 from 4 with wins against the odds in 3 of those games.
Also, big up to Adam Pearson for not pulling the trigger and ensuring the managers office door is not a revolving one.
We are not the finished article by any means, but we have now ground out 3 back to back wins in an 8 days period. We have also put the shackles to one side and we play with a bit of freedom and style. Confidence is clearly high.
SO,,
Will those who have stayed away be coming to the Hudds game on Friday?
If not, what would it take get those back?

| One swallow does not make a summer.
Whilst the upturn in form is most welcome and encouraging for those fans that already attend and are hooked regardless I think it's going to take more than 4 games to win those missing fans back.
No one can under estimate the negativity of the last 2 years under Radford and it's going to take a massive shift in attitude for those fans to come back whilst he's still here, they are going to take some convincing he's the right man for the job.
I feel until we can challenge consistently up in the top 4 and be considered as winners of at least one piece of silverware a season then we will struggle to get the stay away fans back.
I feel too many became disillusioned and walked away and it's far too early this season to attract them back.
If this form continues then realistically we could be challengers and if we can compete in any final this year and continue improving into next season then they will come back in time.
Unfortunately 2 years of damage is not repaired over weeks.
I hope we do build on this momentum however and become as consistent as the top teams.

| I guess we'll find out on Friday but I think the wins against Rovers and Wire should help the gate as much as last night's win.
A decent weather forecast won't do any harm either.

I sincerely hope so. After performances like this, it's the perfect way to welcome the boys home with a big vociferous crowd to cheer them on to another win. It would show appreciation to them all for the way they have played and show it's definitely worth all the hard work. Do I think they will, probably not as their is 2 many radford bashers and hull bashers where nothing they do will be good enough. To many people who are quick to have ago yet struggle to give praise when it due. What better way for the boys to come out to a big crowd on Friday. Fingers crossed I'm wrong I really do hope they come back

I do get what you mean about the last 2 years but for me if it's going to take 1 to 2 years of competing at the top and a final appearance to consider coming back then they really are not proper hull fc supporters. Players feed off the fans enthusiasm and vocal support. Performance and fans go hand in hand on most occasions. That noise generated against warrington really would of helped the team when on our own line and backs to the wall. We need fans to create a hostile kc. I hope it's not a season or 2 before people come back. All the team can do is keep this up and fingers crossed

The team can't do any more at the moment, that's for sure.

I understand where you're coming from but the hardcore 9,000-10,000 fans will turn up regardless and make noise if we are performing well.
But to win back the 4-5 thousand that have just walked away is what I'm getting at if we are to sit at the top table of SL.
You cannot under estimate again the financial impact that has on the club and to attract those fans back of which I'll admit I could have been one will take a lot more than 4 games to undo the negativity in their mind of recent times.

| Some people have dug themselves in a long way but at the end of the day if we win enough home games some of the fickles will return. They always will do. Obviously a good cup run would help as well - amazing how many fans we will have if we can get to a semi again.

| My fear is that on the back of recent wins we get a good crowd and the team then blow it like against Cas and turn off the non-members for another few matches. If you want to grow the gates, consistency is the key.

| As mentioned by BombedOut, the massive disappointment and the way we played over the last two seasons almost getting relegated after a cup final season have driven folk to making other life choices and to what they spend their money and time on.
For someone to label others as not "proper Hull FC fans" or "fickle fans" for making a personal choice is ludicrous and pompous especially given the carp served up especially under Agar and latterly Radford.
And yes attendances were still high under Agar but that showed how loyal those fans you now label as "not proper fans" were.
Poop on the field, no success (again), false promises by new owner and importantly undermining a level of improvement with yet again an unproven cheap option has proven to be very, very costly.
Will some fans come back, of course...if we continue in this vein, will we get back to regular 13/14k home gates, no, it'll take at least a season or two of success or at the very least really competing and playing good rugby.
One point to make, scientific studies show that playing at home is no real advantage, in fact can be detrimental due to expectation of fans and pressures that can put on players. It isn't proven that cheering home crowds motivate players/professional sportspeople any more than they would normally display in front of empty terraces.
Not that cheering when we are winning/making a comeback is bad for the fans scientifically at least there's evidence to support it makes little difference to increase performance.

| I hope stayaway fans come back. For the club to build we need higher attendances and associated additional income. Right now the club are doing what they can through delivering on the pitch, supported by preparation off it including Cryo Chambers and the like. Ultimately as a collective group - players, backroom staff, management, fans (current and lapsed), we're better together. Hope we can get a good vocal crowd in and get another two points to maintain the recent momentum.

| Most if not all clubs have struggled in recent years to increase attendances (apart from ticket offers or giveaways). There are simply more things for people to spend their money and time on. The Super League must shoulder some of the blame with Thursday night games and the fiddling about with the league structure still leaving many games with nothing to play for.
It will probably take a major trophy or a couple of seasons at least of top four finishes with consistantly entertaining rugby for our attendances to be regularly back up to 12,000+.
That said the club's performances over the Easter period deserve a good attendance on Friday. I'd be disappointed with under 11,000.

When labelling not proper fans, I meant the fans that always see the bad never positives, we all know some of them. Never give credit but always quick to criticise, the ones who have a bee in the bonet about radford no matter how well we perform. We all no many of these. If fans can't come because of lifestyle choices or lack of income then that is unfair to criticise them, I'v been their when made redundant I had to say no to a pass as hard as it was. Their will always be the hardcore 10,000 your right, that stick with the club through thick and thin, it's the others we need to attract and winning games does that to an extent but then their still radFord in charge and some fans no matter what can't accept him, I like radford and his passion and I think he's doing a great job at present and I just wish everyone could get on board and support the team as a whole. The boys definitely need it
