Makes great competition for places and gives cover in case of injury. Think I prefare Rankin in the halves though but I'm sure Radders will start Price and Sneyd in the half back positions. Maybe Rankin will become a utility player of sorts?

There is only one player for fullback for me and that is Shaul, his support play was one of the best in the competition last season and he just got better under the high ball as the season went on.

Shaul needs to work on his link up play. When he comes into the line in attacking plays it often breaks down. But he's done enough to be considered first choice full back.

Not as cut and dried for the fullback role imo.
Shaul has great pace and support but needs to improve his basic skill set to become a top full back and Rankin or Naughton may well take the opportunity to claim the number 1 spot. |

When we signed Rankin as a half back plenty on here said he was a full back.
If we are going to see the best of Shaul he needs someone breathing down his neck; last season he had no competition for the full back spot. We don't want him getting complacent.

Don't see Rankin at all at full back this coming season other than for injury cover.
Jamie Shaul and Naughton will fight for the spot.
I see Rankin as a regular part of the starting 17 coming off the bench and interchanging when necessary either as half back or hooker
