| I thought the new concept of having a video ref mic'd up was so that you could hear the reasoning behind a decision being made however the video ref saying "and the decision is...try" was totally pointless.
I would love to hear a proper reason and not just a bit of pantomime announcements.

| Maybe some people have a hard time reading the verdict when it appears in big massive letters.
If a try is given then there is no need for reasoning to be aired because we know that he didn't see anything wrong by awarding the try. If he gives NO TRY then he can explain what for if there are more things to look at than simply the grounding of the ball but really find it unnecessary, they can put in the match report his reasoning
for me the main thing I noticed was when they asses offside decisions, they were able to bring up a line across the pitch from where and when the ball was kicked, now if they can do that for offside couldn't they potentially do something similar for forward pass decisions? you mark on the pitch where the player was when he passed it and another mark where the receiver catches the ball. When Tom Biggs was announced I watched a couple of Bath games to see what hes like and in Union the VR can call a forward pass just using replays
