Another good read wilf wish I could have put into words how I felt on Saturday but you have just done that for me, but like you I will be there on Friday because that's what I do.

Thanks Wilf. I was completely speechless on Saturday night. Numb with pain far worse than I have ever encountered as a Hull fan. As you say we maybe should be used to it. Though I am sick of being used to it now.
I like you see this season as over. My only hope is that Wigan have spent so long on the pop this week that we will turn them over. Can't see it though. They will want a big build up to OT and further glory I am sure.

So roll on the off season and all the rumours and the speculation from those in the know. We will be back of that I am sure. We are at the start of something. How big that is I would not like to speculate on. We have the potential to be top 4. I just hope the desire is there. I am sure the owner has that desire, I just hope he can find the players to help achieve it. That though is the problem.

Keep believing. You know me. That desire goes on until we win at Wembley. The never ending dream.

I feel for you Wilf.

It must have been very difficult for you to write it this week, but, as ever, I'm glad you did.

Reading this weeks diary was done as a sense of duty Wilf but in the end you have accurately put into words what many of us fans are thinking. Like a friend of mine said to our group of 4 (all aged 60) it's no good saying there's always next year - we're running out of years !!

excellent effort wilf considering the huge disappointment.I am really struggling to summon up any enthusiasm for the remaining matches,and any hope for the future,although I agree with you that anybody who says the players weren't trying is talking garbage,I really cant see this group of players(with only 1 or 2 additions apparently) taking us to the level required to be a top side!? anyway maybe another few days and I might start to think more positively

just realised when you said you had been a supporter for 55yrs, I had been to the games before, but was really into it by the time I was 11yrs of age in 1959, which was of course the year we lost at Wembley to wigan!!!!

Well done Wilf. I think you've done really well to actually put your words into print this week. Nobody would have blamed you if you'd said you weren't bothering but that's not you. Your only consolation (if there is one) is that you know you're not suffering alone as thousands of us are still hurting from Saturday's abject performance.
However, despite the regular kickings we fans are subjected to, we'll all be there when the team next runs out, optimistic that things will get better.

I echo what everyone has posted. Wilf, you might know this already, but by 'eck you don't half put into words what a lot of us couldn't. I won't be there on Friday (can't get away from work early enough), but will be listening and there in spirit.
As fans we get carried away at times with that "never again" feeling, but you got to be in it to win it and we were in it for a lot longer than everyone else in Superleague (apart from wigan), so I will be there at the KC against St Helens and will be there next season.

A great post Wilf and you put into words every ounce of what I still feel three days later. Still, as an FC supporter I suppose I should have known better than to think we would have done anything other than well, stuff-up.
I'm holding on to the theory that the Wigan lads will have been on the lash and we just might come through. See there I go again like so many of us ,holding on to hope again!

once again a very good read wilf.liked the part about karl harrison.stayed in hull overnight on my way to edinburgh,felt a bit better when i got back home,and my 4 year old great granddaughter was waiting to cheer me up.
