| Does anyone know the penalty count and completion rate from last night? We seemed to give away penalty after penalty in that 1st half and I think we gave away 3 in the game whilst we were the team in possession which is criminal. Completion rate must have been below 60% and I don't remember us putting in 1 attacking kick in their 20. Gentle said in his interview last night that we haven't had a repeat set for 4 matches (which, incidentally, coincides with horne's injury absence)

That's an awful stat if so.
We are probably the worst team in SL at setting up a drop goal attempt also.
Basics but we find it ludicrously difficult even to get an attempt away.

couldn't agree more about the drop goal attempts, take last night, lee smith drops the game winning goal on the 3rd tackle, no hull player in sight to attempt to block, we wait until the 5th play of the ball, nobody is set and the wakey defence were set waiting for it at each play!!

| I don't think the penalties should be such a concern at the moment. Roby was dreadful and his definitions of what was and wasn't a high tackle for example changed throughout the game. The error and completion rate certainly is a problem though, there have simply been far too many basic mistakes been made. The worst thing about is it seems to affect everyone - if it was just one or two players then you can drop them but when it gets shared around the solution is much harder to find.

There was no organisation on that last set. Why did Tickle take the 4th tackle? He would have been the best candidate for a drop goal rather than Wseterman.

| I reckon the former will be higher than the latter.

| i was fortunate enough to be sat in the box next to Gentle et al on Monday night and i overheard them saying we completed 1 of the last 7 sets in the first half.
re the drop goal attempt, (also overheard) Gentle called for a full set before the drop goal, he wanted 1 out rugby for all 5 tackles and then Jacob to to take the shot. It obviously didn't work out like that and i got the impression he was hoping Ogre would take the ball on tackle 5 as his ptb had been quicker than anyone else's.
