I would like to have a go at hypnosis. I just do not know anyone who can recommend one they have seen in Hull. Has anybody on here had success with hypnosis and with whom?

cheers

Cheers Tooms2000, I know there are plenty mate. I was hoping to get a recommendation from someone who had actually had success with one. icon_smile.gif

hypnosis never worked for me.

I stopped 10 year ago, no relapses because i wanted to stop and used patches for 2 weeks. slept with one on so woke with no craving, then one night decided to not wear it.

different things work for different people of course, all hypnosis did was relax me ... i really enjoyed those chilled out post hypnosis smokes though lol

Full marks to anyone trying to stop. I was very lucky in that I stopped smoking on the spur of the moment 15 years ago and have never had the urge to start again. Good luck to anyone making the effort.

I'd urge anyone who smokes to continue and encourage your non smoking pals to start. Us non smokers can't afford for you to stop

I was a 40+ a day smoker and I smoked for 46 years, but I now use these e cigs.

After doing a lot of research I found this firm one of the best.
jacvapour.com .... Quite a few user reviews for the various products on the site, and elsewhere on the net forums.

They are very good, much healthier, and much cheaper than cigarettes. Lots of people have managed to stop smoking with e cigs, when other methods have failed (including hypnosis)

I personally have the V1P PCC starter kit for out and about, and I have the Vgo2 VV (Variable Voltage) manual starter kit, for home use.

One of the best choices I have made in a long time!

I smoked for 30 years, now I vape electronic cigarettes, for nearly a year.

Best thing I ever did, stopping smoking,my taste buds have returned - actually I prefer ecigs to analogue cigarettes, there are literally thousands of different flavours of eliquid.

Was spending approx £150 a month on fags, now I'm lucky if i spend £5 a month on ecigs.

Here's a good starter kit.

This is my first post so i hope i don't make a balls up. I stopped smoking 40 years ago, (i'm now 81) and after several failed attempts i discovered another way and found it easier than i thought. I was having a attack of bronchitus and i hadn't had a smoke for two or three days because i was coughing so much. I knew i had to stop. I was having some flack off my wife and daughter who where both nurses and then i realised i had stopped! If i just didn't start again it was half the battle. Other attempts had always failed by mates asking me how i was doing, and offering me cigs. Then the secret dawned on me, DON'T TELL ANYONE AT ALL! Six days later my daughter said you haven't had a cig today dad. But by then the worst was over, and i haven't had one since. The point is if noone knows there is no pressure, hope this helps.
I was quite a heavy smoker rolling my own with OLD FRIEND which older smokers will remember and is a very strong tobacco.
I'm not going to say this will work for everyone but it did for me and i never considered myself as being strong willed.

I bought the easy way to stop smoking by Alan Carr off eBay for a couple of quid, it is amazing, I'd smoked for over ten years and been trying to stop for over six months when I read it. Five days later I'd stopped and that was two years ago. It's hard to believe a book can work, but it does. Anyway good luck

Best thing I did was quit.

Went to docs and got full strength 24hr patches for two months with one of those inhalator things with the cartridges. Ditched the inhalator after a month because they were rank, but did serve a purpose for a while.
Then went on medium strength for a further two months before switching to the weakest strength for the last two months.
All in all six long months, which could have been sooner but I was taking no chances.
It's now been two years and four months since I quit (new year resolution that stuck!) and I'd love to say I feel healthier and have had the taste buds and sense of smell come back etc. but I haven't. Or I have and didn't notice! All I seem to be left with is a hatred of the smell smokers have on them and an arrogance towards those that say they can't stop!
No point in doing it for your kids/family etc. like all addictions, you'll only beat it when YOU are ready.

Someone I worked with did the exact same thing and recommended it to everyone he knew trying to give up.
