| Its 10 years since City opened the KC against Sunderland next week, time flies!
Interesting articles from Adam Pearson rlhttps://www.thisishullandeastriding.co.uk/place-catalyst-helping-clubs-huge-steps-forward/story-17594221-detail/story.htmlrl and Yeamo rlhttps://www.thisishullandeastriding.co.uk/ve-played-Wembley-beats-running-packed-KC/story-17594369-detail/story.htmlrl in the HDM.
Have to agree with Pearson that an opportunity was missed to re-develop West Hull during the early 'boom years' of the KC, we are unlikely to see funds available for such a re-development again in for many years.
Also amazed they splashed out close to 500K on getting Elton John to perform at the stadium that kind of figure seems a world away in these economic times!
I'd have to disagree with Yeamo and say my favourite FC memory is the last 10-15mins of the 2006 playoff with Bradford, we knew we'd reached the Grand Final for the first time and the atmosphere was unreal. Briscoe's 2008 length of field derby try is my favourite try though.

| A couple of stats in the paper - Yeaman has scored the most tries at the KC with 65 and Danny Tickle the most goals with 633.
It's a shame that the stadium has not been used to its full potential. Sadly, ticket sales for REM, The Who and Bon Jovi weren't great and it looks unlikely that we'll see any more big names playing there for a long time.
The area around the stadium also leaves a lot to be desired, espescially the walk from Argylle Street over the foot bridges. It's a bit of an eyesore.
Having said all that I still love the KC and it's by far the best stadium in rugby league - much better than Warrington, Saints or Salford.

I think Saints is a better rugby ground.
A good mix of standing and seating. The size is about right too.
11,000 at the KC looks a bit sp

We are. I still remember walking in for our first game and being gobsmacked that we were actually going to be playing our games here.

| Our first SL game was a nightmare! Cold and a defeat to London! I do miss the games in the sunshine where we used to hammer Leigh and Widnes!

Although I know where you are coming from, I would say a capacity of 20k would be perfect for Hull FC. It's only a couple of season ago we averaged 14k. As has been mentioned if we do get a title challenging side, having 14-15k home base of fans is not beyond reason.
Whatever, I am glad we use the KC. The Boulevard was 10 years passed it's best and was restricting the club going forward with is limited capacity and expensive maintenance requirements.

Depends on the club, surely?
For the likes of Wakefield, Cas and Salford 14-15,000 is fine*. For Hull and Saints it's not. We've had ten attendances over 14,500 over the last four years despite having very average seasons.
[size*I've not included Rovers so as to avoid a ing contest.[/size

Can't help yourself can you.. cut out the abuse or you're gone - pm
I think with the derbies getting 20k plus attendances the KC capacity is bang on for yourselves. It's also given the City a cracking chance to host some of the international matches that we may otherwise not have had in the city. A Hull FC side playing at the right end of the table have proven they'll attract 15k+ home supporters.
