| There have been some outstanding overseas players pull on Hull shirts since i started following the sport. Although a lesser name, i would argue that Craig Coleman had a bigger impact at Hull than Peter Sterling.

Patrick Entat and Greg Mackey had a bigger influence than Coleman.

| Since the early 80's any top 10 overseas list would have to include Greg Mackey for me. The bottom line is major trophey success in sport and Mackey was an integral part of us achieving this in 1991 and I think it is fair to say without a team of internationals around him at the time!

True...a team of very good grafters and no frills players who played to full ability

Mackey was a good player but he benefited from having a half back partner who complimented him perfectly in Patrick Entat and also an all international front row to play behind in Harrison, Jackson and Dannatt. Not sure if Mcnamara and Busby were internationals by this time but it wasnt a bad pack to work off!

I would like to see you talk up our backline!
We had grafters who did their job in players like Sharp, Walker and Marlow in the pack with a steady away backline including Turner, Webb, Nolan and McGarry.
Its a shame the team were dismantled after this victory because I think we were a couple of players away from becoming a top team with the youngsters like Macca and Busby coming through.

Yes, it was arguably the best pack in the league at the time. I liked Ian Marlow. Snapped up from the obscurity of local rugby union aswell. Just shows that there is talent all over if you look hard enough.

I agree. Criminal how only 2 of them got international recognition that year. (3 if you include Eastwood in the backs).
We were solid but not spectacular!
