Life is a game of inches, so is football. Because in either game - life or football - the margin for error is so small. I mean, one half a step too late or too early and you don't quite make it. One half second too slow, too fast and you don't quite catch it. The inches we need are everywhere around us. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone else around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when add up all those inches, that's gonna make the difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying! You've got to look at the guy next to you, look into his eyes. Now I think ya going to see a guy who will go that inch with you. Your gonna see a guy who will sacrifice himself for this team, because he knows when it comes down to it your gonna do the same for him. That's a team, gentlemen. TONY D'AMATO: |

| So what do we all think?
At the start of the season I was hoping for improvement, better rugby on the eye, the club going in the right direction, more passion in the derbies, and would have settled for top 6.
This season has ticked all my boxes and barring a little inconsitency could have been even better. Overall I'm really happy with the season and I believe we can beat Giants and then possibly put up a decent show in the second round (which could well be Saints away on form).
There is a great feeling of community and spirit around the club again, something I feel has been missing for a few years.
There is a sense of belief that something is really happening and the PG project is well underway.
I can't wait for next season already and Sunday is going to be a cracker.
Well done AP, SM, PG and the lads, it feels great to be a black and white again and you have done us proud as far as I am concerned.
On a local level, finishing 11 points above the piggies and dominating all 3 derby games is a cherry on the top.
For you olda faithful pal of mine

| So far all my pre-season boxes ticked. Just need a play-off win and I'll call it a success.
Looking forward to the play-offs for the first time in years.

| Being a more enjoyable season, more ups than downs and I have looked forward with excitement at watching my team. Hopefully we can end with a good run in the play-offs

I agree, we need to prove we can win in a 'must win' game.
This season we have seen better rugby and I am optimistic for the future, however the losses against Rovers at the Magic Weekend, Wakefield away and Widnes away in particular make it feel like a season that 'got away' winning those 3 would have put us 3rd!
Injuries have (again!) hit us hard this season, but the positive to come out of that is that we've blooded so many youngsters in, players like Green, Crooks, Lineham and Kent look like first team regulars that have played for years now, while the likes of Bowden and Cunningham have had their taste of first team action and could make the same step up.

| Agree with the above posts. Been an enjoyable season to date with some more enterprising play and some good tries scored. We lost our defensive attitude a bit mid season but it appears to have returned in time for a shot at the play offs. Will be delighted if we can win next week of course then who knows what might happen. We've had a lot of injuries but the new coach has coped well with them and some young talent is emerging. There's been a parallel soap opera running along side the rugby with all the rumour and intrigue and the coaching staff deserve huge credit for finishing where we have. But for two farcical results we would have been top 4 which shows how much closer we've been this season. Let's go out at home with a massive display and victory against Hudds then see how much further we can get.

| Season of transition. Hopefully we can get a settled side that gentle can work with for 2 or 3 seasons and see what he can do. Tactically he is streets ahead of any of our recent coaches

| It's been an encouraging start to the Pearson/Gentle era.
However once again we had no cup run, so that was one 'fail'. We have, though, beaten everyone except the top two and only Wigan did the double over us.
If we win next weekend and then are competitive the following week we can consider it a more than acceptable season, especially given we lost our fullback in April.

Catalans have only lost one at home. Same as us I believe (excluding the Huddersfield game as that was in the cup).

| I estimated 6th/7th at the start of the season for us and 7th/8th for our webbed fingered friends so I'm pretty happy with how the season has panned out up to now, especially since i thought McKinnon was great and when he went felt our wheels might fall off big time (and they did for a bit!). Would be good to get a play off win, and if we get Moa back in addition to tickle, our pack will be improved further and who knows!

| Decent season.
Big positives for me
Youngsters getting game-time and looking the part.
Much more attractive rugby.
Good coach who talks sense and has good tactics, seems a strong personality who has kept people like Aspinwall, Seymour, Westerman under control.
Our lack of taking opportunities and points for column is a concern but with a new halfback combination, including an attacking FB this should improve next year.
Also need to be more composed when we are in the lead. Again having experienced and better halfbacks will help this.
