Did I hear Ganson ask the video ref the check the tackle on Riley? I thought they could only use it for tries & 40/20s?

The forward pass wouldnt have been so bad if he hadnt already pulled wigan for two forward passes which were 50/50 anyway. Hodgson let go of the ball three yards before the ten metre line and the winger caught it three yards the other side, it really is a joke.

The most worrying part about that for me is that I thought it was Childs who was the touch judge. If it was it shows a massive lack of trust between 2 full-time professional colleagues. |

I assume 'TJ Coach' is Touch Judge Coach, if so it's a new one on me. Tony Brown appears to be the only one appointed to this position because he was also at Salford on Friday night and will be at Wakey today.

Fair enough. I wasn't certain. Still shows a lack of trust and consistency. For the 88mph flux-capacitor pass at the Etihad, Ganson reportedly check either way with his touch judges then gave it. Make your mind up Steve. |

There area number of touch judge coaches who work at different grades. They are largely unpaid, heading off to watch games each weekend and providing assessments back to the touch judge lead for each grade. Tony Brown works with the Super League group, but there are others who work below that level. Eg Steve Wright assesses a number of grade 2 officials who are officiating championship and championship 1. Their appointments are always on the rfl website. I had a tj coach at the game I officiated in the championship last weekend. |
