Were doing better than last season standings wise, So I'm not to bothered were we are Try and goal kicking wise.

I think the value of taking the 2 is obvious to the fans, how many times this season has a pentalty been given for most of us to raise two fingers and shout take the two.

Not only did it win us 2 points at London, it put us in the position to get the win at Sts and I feel had we took the 2 on offer at Salford we would have come away with another win.

Points win matches however we get them

If you take into account the 'missed' goals, then all teams have had more 'attempts' at goal then tries scored, except Cas who have the same attempts as tries scored.

I reckon it's just that we have a good kicker

fair enough just thinking maybe the penaltie(s?) we took against against salford may have cost us the game?

think the turned down chance in front of the sticks, when we lost posession on the 1st tackle cost us more

i'm old skool with penalties, i always like teams to take the 2, if
a. it is reasonably kickable and
b. we get it dead so forcing a kick out

the fact we have a decent league placing despite the amount of goals we kick vs tries suggest that overall its a strategy that works as it has certainly resulted in a few wins this year. the only time it might not have worked was away at hudds but we didnt really look like scoring a try that day anyway

(also should add point c. it helps to have a kicker of tick's class too)

Because our defence is much better we aren't shipping points and don't need tries to chase down scores as much. Our games are now lower scoring meaning 2 points become more important.

"Going for the two" went a long way towards our wins over Saints and Leeds.
