To fellow hull f.c fans who have played rugby...

What players that are now professional/well known players have you played against.

I've played against a few players, but the now most successful would have to be sam burgess.

He was my opposite number 10 when we (East Hull) played Parkside, we got a good harding, will never forget that day because my body felt like it had been hit by an express train haha!

Memories....

Best memories of playing rugby was the 2 tries I scored against Cas lock lane in the yorkshire cup quarters as a forward, and one of the winning trys away to Dudley Hill..

I'm intrigued to find out what other fellow F.C fans have played rugby.

Have never played but once drove the Ledgendery Knocker home from Hull to Castleford and once had my car engine blow up on a night match to Saints and was brought home by Gary Divorty -memories.......

I played rugby once, for five minutes, sprained my ankle. That was summer and my ankle's still fooked.
Still, I enjoyed those five minutes very much.

My claim to SL fame is Lewis Sherriff lobbed an apple at my head at school so hard it shattered and I fell over (I was crouched down).

Played with Kirk Yeaman (For Hull Schools/Humberside) and against him when he was at Ideal.
Played in the same side as Steve Snitch too. Played against Ryan Bailey for Hull Schools v Leeds Schools. Somebody said something to him in a scrum and he started a brawl! I got thrown on 2 minutes later at hooker, was dreading the next scrum!!

I played against john bateman when he played for dudley hill. he is a great player and scored 3 against us in the yorkshire cup final. he had scouts from wigan warrington leeds and st helens watching him

Calderwoods playing in the Pennine Leagues at the moment.

Played against Lee St Hilaire too, and quite a few who have played at Championship level.

Chris Smith (Heworth), Ikram Butt (can't remember the team), Bright Sodjie (Sheff Hillsborough Hawks), Lee Radford (East Hull), played with and against Paul King.

There was a guy I played hooker against a couple of years ago, he was playing for Leigh East and had been at somewhere like Dewsbury or Batley the year before. He was quality and I didnt get near him all afternoon. Anyone know who I mean?

Just remembered, Chris Chester (Stanley Rangers) in an u15 Yorkshire Cup Final at Fev. We lost 42-0!!

Played with and against McNamara, Dean Busby, Richard Chamberlain, Daio Powell and Steve Blakelely.

Also played against McNamara and Busby possibly a few more without knowing. Also played against a few of the 80's legends in a pre match all stars game at the boulevard which included the legendary Knocker Norton (who was still incredibly competitive and was trying to cheat all game )

Played with or against, Paul Parker, Paul King, Andy Last, Lee Radford, Jamie Peacock probably played others from west Yorkshire and lancashire but didn't know of them at the time.

I've played along side Danny houghton for 8 years, and Mike burnett.

Also played with Craig Hall @ Mallet Lambert for school boys.

Worse moment was when Danny Brough came to East Hull training with cookie.

Put a bomb up in a warm up match (before training) and he knocked it on and I went to tackle him, didn't like it, spit his dummy out and squared up to me, I was only 17.
