| I'm travelling on the MegaBusPlus.
Bus down to East Midlands Parkway then train into St Pancras.
Only £23 return can't be bad.

I'm guessing you don't travel by train very often then?
Trains will go to Newark then on to Lincoln, dependant on where the works are could mean going directly back to rejoin the line at Grantham or alternatively down to Peterborough via Spalding/Sleaford but there's no mention of missing out Grantham from the journey.
This is the latest from the National Rail website and shows that only Saturday afternoon trains until lunch timeySunday are affected.
"Diverted trains because of engineering work between Grantham and Newark Northgate
From 13:15 on Saturday 5 until 12:05 on Sunday 6 November 2011, First Hull Trains services between London Kings Cross and Hull are diverted via Lincoln. Journey times will be extended by up to 90 minutes."

nope not anymore but i've had more than my fair share of rail based misery in the past - just thought lincoln was an odd way to do it as its going back on itself a bit from newark - donny to sheffield to nottingham then grantham is the usual diversion route, though guess this route will be busy with existing services on a saturday. still better than putting everyone on a replacement bus service
