Richard Horne will become Hull's sixth captain of the season when he leads them out against table-topping Warrington at the KC Stadium tonight.
The 29-year-old stand-off, Hull's longest-serving player, takes over from Craig Fitzgibbon, whose season and career was cruelly cut short by an ankle injury, for his side's last match of the regular season.
"Richard has taken on a mantle for us over the last three or four weeks," said coach Richard Agar.
"We all know he's struggling a little bit with an ongoing groin problem but the way he's toughed it out and the commanding performances he's put in under some duress at times have been excellent.
"He has captained the side before and obviously he's got 300-odd games experience so Richard will be a good man for the job."

Maybe it is just a gesture from Agar to Horne for the work he has done for him?

| Think it's just awkwardly worded:
'Sean Long, Danny Tickle and Martin Gleeson, who have all captained Hull at various stages this season, along with Mark O'Meley, will all be missing on Friday night but it is the absence of Fitzgibbon that will be most keenly felt.'
The first 3 will all be missing, but O'Meley has also acted as captain.
I think what's most strange is that Gleeson has apparently been captain. Can anybody remember when, and has anybody got the faintest idea why on earth he was given it? Not at all a suitable candidate for the role IMO.

| Wasn't Obstacle captain at Cas once Fitz went off? Doesn't really matter who wears the armband I don't think.
Biggest problem is a lack of leadership in the pack, think one of O'meley and Radford need to be on at all times.
