Noticed this is on the Rovers forum and not on here.

Fantastic day planned in aid of Saggy and I am sure there will be plenty of Hull fans willing to lend their support (if only to cheer on the side playing Rovers Legends icon_lol.gif )

Seriously though, great cause and hopefully some of you can help if you have not already done so.

Thanks Guys

I should probably add the details of the day coming up.....

25th June 2011.

Saggys Trust/Life For A Kid Charity Rugby Day taking place at Hull YPI sports-ground. 12pm start.

Saggy played for three UK teams during his career; Eureka ARLFC, Beverley and Hull Kingston Rovers.

His old team mates from each of those teams has agreed to roll back the years and take part in a round robin tournament playing against none other than the Ex Great Britain All Stars!!! www.allstarsrugby.co.uk

With squad players such as Andy Gregory, Graham Steadman, Malcolm Alker and Gary Connelly (to name but a few!) This team (now known as the Life for a Kid All Stars) does a great job raising money for the Life for a Kid Foundation www.lifeforakid.co.uk

Money raised on the day will also go towards the LFAK chosen cause, which in this instance is to raise £1000.00 for five year old Hull lad Finley Stockton who suffers from a very rare brain disorder a specially adapted hydrotherapy bath.

During the adult tournament there are 12 under 8s teams playing their games between the adult fixtures (we`ll need the rest!!)

Apart from the rugby itself, there will be Bouncy Castles, A Football Panna Cage, Tombola and various other distractions for adults and children alike

Hull FC`s Airlie Bird mascot will be there for the kids, as well as the Castleford Tigers cheerleaders performing between games. Radio Humberside have confirmed they will be hosting the afternoon via Outside Broadcast from YPI.

Fully licenced bar open throughout the day and BBQ/Karaoke from late afternoon into the evening.

With over 100 ex players participating, many of whom played professional and international rugby, at only £2.00 per adult (admittance and a matchday programme included) and children in free we really hope to see a bumper crowd and would love you and your family to come along and enjoy the fun !!

For more information contact Richard Ferguson on 07971 420809

Fantastic event for a very good cause. I've sponsored a mate playing in the game and I'll be there to get my monies worth and give him some stick/encouragement.

Saggy was a big Hull Fc fan in every sense of the word, Mr nice guy as well.

I'll be there- taking a community fire engine. Doing a hose running comp with the winner receiving a real fire helmet, so come on guys let's all get there. Also doing a soak the firefighter/Dad/rugby legend.
This is a fantastic charity that has been set up in Saggys name to raise money for the families of bereaved or seriously injured rugby players.
Andy
