| It actually reminds me of the story about the bloke stood on the terrace and tells his mate he wants to pee.
"Well do it in that blokes pocket." says his mate.
"I can`t do that!!"
"Why not?,I have just done it in yours!"

| Nice article, I loved that place with a passion and some of my happiest memories are of match days at boulevard, I frequented the thre'penny stand from about 1990-until our move so probably not what you'd call the glory days but still a great place to be even if the crowd was only about 4000 at times.

| My big brother took me to my first match in 1959, took my entrance money and showed me how and were to sneak in, many happy memories in and around a Hull institution that will stay with me forever.

| Where was your sneak in point??? We used to clamber up the back wall and onto the back of threpenny stand. Then hide out under stands till the place packed out. We used to get caught umpteen times but it never stopped us, it used to be part of a ritual.
Also plenty of times going through the turnstiles under my dads coat even though the bloke on the turnstiles could quite clearly see you

| I was once talking to an expro (a real one) who said he used to hate playing at the Boulevard. He said that in the early days he played there women used to stand next to the tunnel and hit the opposition players with their handbags and men used to punch the opposition on their way onto the field. He said it was worse when you came off at the end of the match if you'd won. He said it was much better when the cage was installed!

| I love hearing about Boulevard and i still really miss the place. I know you have to move on in the name of progress but for mine a little bit of FC died when we left there. Great memories and it was a real emotional rollercoaster reading about it again. I'd give anything to experience a derby day there again or a leeds match.

| Great read and really brought back memories. The bit about Dean Sampson reminded me of Andy Gregory helping carry off a Hull player who was badly injured. The crowd had gone all quiet as the injury looked bad and as people started clapping the injured play and Gregory for his sportsmanship someone shouted " Well done Gregory, we still hate you though ya little ba$tard." Classic threepenny memory.
Can't remember who the injured player was.
