| Thought I'd start a separate thread on this as some interesting comments being made about the ownership of FC amidst the unconfirmed rumours of the Allams potentially being interested in buying the club. The most interesting is those saying things along the lines of "better the devil you know" when the board comes in for some serious stick on here at times.
What are the pros and cons for you?
Pros
Access to finance - not that that is an obvious issue for us, but having the sort of wealth these guys have as backers would be an obvious advantage
Related to this, greater funds potentially available for non salary-cap-restricted areas of expenditure, namely the coach, the academy, the community programmes, training facilities.
Potentially greater synergies with City, there's probably best practice on both sides we could do with sharing
Longer term security - we'd be a pretty attractive proposition for the Allams IMO, very low cost relative to football but able to wear a decent proportion of the costs of the stadium, so it would seem that we'd be a cheap but important part of their plans.
Cons
The Allams know nothing about RL. Whatever you think of Kath, she knows a fair bit about the game and would imagine she's got a pretty good network RLwise. That said she does have a potential conflict of interest with Leeds, and Rule could become chairman, possibly?
We might end up breaking the sustainable business model the current board have worked hard to put in place.
If the Allams pull out/go bust, we're shafted. Not sure that's really much different to the current situation, but at least the ownership currently is shared amongst 5 individuals which spreads the risk
What does anyone else think?

I think we should wait and see what happens...failing that...you should do a full report on them and investigate them at companys house, then a full audit with profit breakdowns.....all this while flickin the bean.....you will be in heaven.
Fwiw....sooner stick with our board as,personally,i dont trust them....something not right.

The overriding gripe on here is our board being too tight@rse for a world class coach. It's a possibility that backers of the wealth of the Allams could address that.

| I have never liked the idea of 'all our eggs in one basket'. Especially even more so after Lord Lloyd and his antics. Too much at stake for me to accept this sort of deal.
Let them buy their way in if that's possible, surely this would be the best of both worlds; Proven business model + wealthy board member sounds like a match made in heaven.

They've maybe been to the odd game before, at least.

Yeah, his grandchildren are passholders at Hull. I have just spoke to one of them on FB and he told me that they aren't getting involved in rugby at all and that these rumours were complete bull. Whether its something he's not been told or not I don't know.

Knowing about rugby and being a passholder aren't necessarily the same thing.

| if the allams were to buy the stadium, the only thing i would be slightly worried about would be the lease agreement via the smc?would the terms have to be re-negotiated?would the smc be disbanded?

No idea about the covenant/lease arrangements, but would imagine there'd be some form of protection afforded to current tenants on a long term lease?

| Maybe one reason we struggle to attract players to the club is sitting in the boardroom. A differant face there could change that to some extent.

They don't need to know much about football, they've got Pearson to look after that side. Personally I think the board are doing a decent job, they've stablised the club, injected a fair whack of money into new signings and they keep their heads down and get on with their jobs. Much rather have them than the ambulance chaser.

| I'd rather stick with out board. I don't like the idea of both clubs being run by the same people, and, financially, we're being run very well at the moment.
Regardless of our on field performance, I have to say that with how we're currently being run I can't say that I'm worried our finances.
