Quote: " You can play your part in supporting the Hull FC Foundation and take your elite place in the brand new CLUB100!
The Black and Whites will be handing out 100 free season passes to supporters for any seat in the ground to a handful of fans that go the extra mile for the club’s charity.
The Hull FC Foundation is one of the most successful and admired charitable organisations in the league and wider sport and touches over 40,000 young people every year with the ultimate aim of getting them all into an active lifestyle and possibly Rugby League, as they continue to Engage, Educate and Inspire.
Undoubtedly, some of those may go on to be potential Hull FC stars, whilst the Foundation also support the club’s junior grades, alongside their much wider work in schools, youth groups and amateur and junior clubs, laying the Foundations for the Future across our region.
Therefore, there isn’t a more worthwhile cause that supporters could contribute too and this is where they come in!
To be part of CLUB100, the Hull FC Foundation is looking for 100 representatives of The Old Faithful to step forward and individually raise £500 through sponsored events before January 31st January 2011.
It could be Rugby League related or something completely different, all the way down to individual donations to your fund.
The first 100 people to complete the challenge will claim their free season pass, which will be presented to them by representatives of the Hull FC first-team squad, as well as having the opportunity to see the Hull FC Foundation in action and witness where all their hard-earned money can really make a difference.
The Black and Whites will also be on hand to offer their support, advice and sponsorship suggestions throughout the fundraising effort.
To have your chance of being part of the exclusive CLUB100, pick up a registration form from the Hull FC Reception at the KC Stadium right now. '"

Not a bad initiative, it will raise a much needed £50k for the Foundation, in effect you are paying double price for the top end season pass if you pay for it yourself, and anyone fund raising will probably raise more than the £500 needed.
BUT
FC fans are a finite resource, so 100 threads on here with links to "just giving" pages isn't going to go down to well, and it may cause people to not donate to toher causes throughout the season.

| I think this is a good idea but all the money raised must go to the Foundation. It is not clear from the press release whether the Foundation get every penny collected. Like some other people when I give to charity I deliberately avoid donating when the collector is on a large commission for rattling a tin. The percentage of [iClub 100[/i could be near 50% of money raised. I think it is therefore only ethical if the Foundation receive 100% of the money collected and the 100 season passes are donated to the charitable arm of the club by the commercial arm of the club, without any 'internal' transfers to cover the cost of the passes. I am sure the club are doing it this way, because I would not contribute to the Foundation's fund raisers if almost half was going towards buying someone a season pass.

I've just emailed my accountant about this, if it's possible to give £500 as a gift from the business and then write it off against tax then it's a definate option for me!

| ive just signed up to the foundation,i think its agreat idea,im very fortunate that im in the process of doing some fundraising for the RNLI and the roy waudby foundation through my weight loss,i contacted the club and asked if it was ok if i split the money i raise between all the 3 causes that way everyone is a winner,i also said that i would give another £50 to the club100 from the money id saved for my season pass seen as im getting one for doing the fundraising, ive currently had about £1600 pledged so far so all 3 will do realy well from me,i decided to add the club100 to my fundraising as i think its a great idea, also of course the offer of a season pass was to good to turn down,i might aswel get something out of it for all the suffering im going through with this bloody health kick plus im now into my 8th week without a pint cheers to everyone who has supported me through the last 3 months, ive got about 1 and a half stone to reach my target by december.
cheers wolfie

just a question i have been pondering since you have decided to split the pledges you have been raising for the rnli and roy waudby foundation( since summer ) 3ways now since the club100 has just recently started , have you informed all those who have so generously pledged to these other great causes it will now be diluted 3 ways ?
