| Being Scottish and obviously a non Hull native I was keen to see if there are many others, like me, that support
Hull and why.
I grew up playing and following union, which I still do but not as passionately as before.
I grew bored with watching union while at uni and started watching super league on sky
with my flat mates. Not being one to follow the crowd, they all supported Saints, Leeds, Wigan
I chose unfashionable Hull. The main reason was my Grandmother, she was from the area and her
brothers all still live down that way. It started as a casual support of a team from an area I had
thin ties with but since learning about the team and watching them over the past six years I have grown
to love them. Other than Rangers football club, Hull FC are the only other team I truly support. Others, ie Edinburgh rugby I just follow
scores etc win or lose it doesn't bother me, for Hull (and Rangers) its a different story.
Sorry if that bored some of you. Look forward to some other stories.

| I gerew up in Leeds and didn't really follow RL at all, but met my future Mrs while working in London. I remember watching a Sky game in a pub in Croydon with her and she defended the game against the crowing from the union types there. Her passion for the game really stood out.
When we started going out, on my first visit to her parents in Hull, we went to a Hull derby (1993?) and stood on Threepennys in a huge noisy crowd. I was hooked from then on.

| Grew up in Lancashire, Preston, only 10 miles from Wigan but my Dad was brought up on Massey Street next to The Boulevard. In 1981 as a 10 year old, obssessed with Kenny Dalglish and Liverpool I wasn't even aware of RL apart from an incident the previous May when me Dad had got a bit annoyed during a certain showpiece occassion!
In 1981 he took us to see an away game at Widnes, from pretty much that point onwards my mum and I have been hooked. The family are still season ticket holders and travel 240 miles for every home game.

Better Dead than red!: |

| Moved across from near Liverpool had a choice of two teams. Seeing as I don't go for teams playing in red it had to be FC. Simples!

| Coming from East London grew up playing Union but loved watching League on Grandstand through the seventies.
Went to my first CC Final in1982 with a family friend who was a Wigan fan ( I liked Cas at the time!)
and went every year up to 1990 and as I often now get reminded never saw FC win at Wembley then lost touch a bit when Sky took on the rights.
By good fortune my family and I moved north to East Yorks and I had a pick of Teams to Support, choose FC as they were closest to me and I worked in Hull (never considered the other mob).
Been accused of being a glory hunter by my Dobbins workmates but like to remind them that I've been a Hammers fan all my life I know what misery can be! and when the 'You'll never win at Wembley is trotted out' I remind my taunters that I may be newbie cockney fan in town but I've seen my adopted club win more trophies and in more finals than them
6 Seasons on I made the right choice, regrets, never got to the Boulevard
One thing though, when I shout Come on you 'Ull with a London accent please don't say 'your not from round here' or 'why do you support FC', just rejoice in the fact that your great club is now my great club

It's good to have another FC/Evertonian mate. Where abouts did you live when you where over this way?
Born and bred scouser and never really took much notice/interest in RL except for maybe the odd game or odd Saints v Wigan match and then, for whatever reason, I started watching it a bit more, watched Hull play on the tele a few times and fancied going to a game so me and my dad went to watch Wire v Hull at Wilderspool (in the away end) and We've been hooked ever since.

| I was in the Army & in 1985 I was posted to Driffield & one of the other guys was from Hull & asked me if I fancied going along to
watch a game. I can't remember the name of the street he was from, but it was very close to the ground. That was me hooked from that day on. If memory serves me right, we won the first 10 games in the league that year?

| i grew up on hessle road (rugby ave off rugby street) but the first person to take me was my stepdad who was from cornwall, he just loved any rugby and naturally chose the closest team to support, the downside though was that he would also take me to the circle to watch cricket all f@cking day, which i hated.

| I`m a glory seeker.
Coming from Cleethorpes (not exactly a hotbed of R.L.) I was persuaded by an F.C.fan to go to a G.B. v France game.
Went again to watch an F.C. game, got hooked on it.
