| looking at the squad, with washy at loose man floating around surely makes hull a bit more of a attacking team, washy is good at this and provides a link out wide, when he had a run at loose man he often broke the line, with the pack we have this week, only makes me think we will throw the ball around,at last
if washy plays like another prop, like agar has got fitzy doing it proves to me that agar is a poor tactition,

| Washbrook might be a Hull lad, and a very good club man, but he just isn`t good enough at Super League level. A good Championship player, yes, but compare him to the half backs and loose forwards at most Super League clubs - he is not big enough, and/or certainly not quick enough. If we have to rely on him in a key position, we will never challenge the top teams.
Whiting should be loose forward. Yes, before you come back at me, I know he lacks genuine pace, but, he thinks twice as quickly as other players, has all the skills, and is big and deceptively strong.

| Its an interesting idea, but not one that Agar would have the balls to go through with, although under Peter Sharpe Washbrook looked like a great prospect at 13, he defended well despite not been the biggest and was a threat in attack not only running the ball but offered good service out wide too, but we now play with and extra front rower instead of a 13.

You are assuming Washy is:
A: going to make the 17
B: Be played in his best position
2 very big assumptions considering the way some of the team selections have gone.

| Washy may just get a game at 13 tomorrow with Fitz and Radders both out. Wont surprise me though if Turner plays there with Washy at 6 and Horne at 7.

If they go with a Horne/Washbrook halfback pairing again, I may have to take a protest poo on the centre spot.

To be fair Washy on the halves the last 2 games has resulted in us scoring more points that usual.

In that case, we should get rid of Long altogether!

Over the last couple of years our wingers only seem to get a pass of the ball when Washy plays.
I'm not saying Washy is the answer but Horne and Turner for example could learn a lot from him in that regard imo.

I've noticed absolutely no difference in the amount/quality of service our winger gets when Washbrook plays. Not even a little bit.

I don't think there's anything Horne could learn from Washbrook in terms of halfback play. It remains to be seen whether Turner will be a better option or not.

You mean the two games which were dead and buried before 60 minutes was up and thus resulted in the opposition take their foot off the pedal somewhat?

Spot on! That's the difference he has a brain and it's dyed in the wool rugby league brain at that. He's wasted on the wing and let's face it although he makes a decent fist of it he's hardly winger material. He is quite simply a loose forward.

What he said.
And TBH I'm far more concerned about our defence than our attack ATM.
