Had a very interesting RL chat over dinner last night with two suppliers one of whom is a Widnes Sponsor and the other a Bulls Fan.
As you do the conversation turns to RL eventually which led to another 3 hours on the pop however in that conversation both of them totally by their own choice agreed that FC would be title contenders this season, both said FC were the most unlucky team in history with regards injuries however the most interesting thing both said as well was ....
They both believe that FC have seen the best of RH already and neither seem to think he will feature much this year, The Bulls fan said he though RH was far too predictable in what he did from what he has seen in the last two years and didnt pose much of a threat anymore as he once did!
Interesting comments!!
Both also said that they did fear for most SL teams against our monster pack and when we got onto predictions for MOS etc heres a cracker , one said Omeley and the other said Yeaman could be there if he gets the correct service which he surely will this term

thoughts??

I think people are dreaming when they say we'll finish top 4 never mind push for the title.

I agree about R Horne and you can add the likes of Yeaman, Radford, Yak, Tickle and to an extent Manu, you never know what your gunna get when he plays.

I have no doubt Leeds will win it again, playing either Saints or Wire in the final.

i agree with you about the league there are a lot of confident people about to say we have not played a game yet cant see us getting above 6th

Horne and Yeaman like Agar has no excusses this year its time to perform but i think Longy can get them playing again.

i've given up tipping Wire to do well for the last 4 season i've thought they would. although they do look a good team on paper again. With Leeds new signings i cant see past them to win everything.

There right, he is too predictable. But hopefully with an organiser alongside him now, it should allow him to play his own game again which is been a runner and he tends to have a good short kicking game (grubbers) which I'm suprised about as his long kicking game is awful.
I think we will dominate most packs this season, don't think we have the best but we have one of them.
5th for me and I'd be happy with that after our last two seasons.

How can anyone say until we've all played at least 5 competitive games?

My biggest concern for FC is, still, fielding the high bomb, we don't seem to have learnt our lessons.

i agree; we do alot of talking before we've even played just 5 competitive games

the squad looks great, but i still have doubts over agar, r.horne, if sean long gets a long-term injury etc. same old stuff thats been mentioned before

if the original comment regarding rich horne is true, then i would really like to see jordan turner or richard whiting play at 6. rich horne was absolutely fantastic a few years ago but he needs to get it back or be replaced. i have a good feeling about jordan turner though and i'd rather see him play at 6 instead of in the centres

top 6 finish is good for me

Let's not forget in 2008 he only played 2 league games (if I recall correctly). So, when people mention the last two seasons surely they are referring to one season (i.e. 2009) when he was back after a very serious foot injury, a very serious neck injury and coming to terms with diabetes and the huge amount of weight he lost because of those things. Also, am I the only one who actually thought he finished the season easily as one of our best players?

I would be over the moon with a 6th place finish but can see us battling with a number of others for 7th and 8th spot.

I agree I think some people tend to forget why Horne lost some of his form,

He has started this one pretty well having created 2 of our tries in his testimonial before half time. That's the kind of form we need from him and if it continues he and we will be fine. If his form drops off then he should be under pressure - same as all players/positions.

I agree with most of that, I have the belief we could be serious contenders well at least for a top 4 spot..I am concerned about Horne however I hope as I do any of our lads that he gets his mojo back, if not bin him..I think they are right tipping O'Meley & Yeamo for MOS, but I also think Manu could be up there. I believe/hope we will see the world class player Berro is, finally! We have some serious talent in our squad and it is just a case now of seeing how Agar manages this.

I've said in conversation to a number of fellow supporters that I don't think our Richard will be in the 17 by the end of the season. Prove me wrong Horney.

Funny how people don't seem to want to afford Horne as many chances as, say, Yeaman to get his 'mojo' back. Horne has easily been the better of the two over the last few seasons.

I don't believe that Agar will play favourites. He can't afford to. Should ANY player consistently under-perform this season then I expect to see them dropped.
