Just been reading that our Poorhouse Lane friends are going to let the amateurs of Hull play them(which i think is a good thing).Didn,t Brian Smith used to give an open invitation to anybody who played and thought they were good enough,to come and have a trial pre-season,seem to remember he had players coming from all over.Don't know why we stopped doing it because there was nothing to lose.

It wasnt how Rob Nolan joined the club but i believe it was the route that Steve Hick and Stuart Vass found their way back to the Boulevard. I can see why it was stopped. |

I think it was Brian Blacker that came down on one of the open trials and got a contract - Rob Nolan came through what was then known as the colts setup...

Dont think so, im sure he was signed from huddersfield  or some other west yorkshire club for about 25k if i remember rightly |
