I have posted a thread before about my position within Goodwin Development Trust, where i help small businesses with any problems they have to help them survive or to aid them in any way.
The local work guarantee scheme is one such initiative. Many times I visit a company and they have a job in the business that needs doing, but they cannot afford to take a member of staff on so end up doing the job themselves, often neglecting other jobs. With the LWGS, we can provide a member of staff FOR FREE, for upto 13 weeks. If the company decides that this member of staff would be suitable for employment, then you can receive a weekly wage supplement for 9 months!! This would help the company through the current climate, and also help the local economy by employing a local person.
So if you own, or work for a company that would benefit or be interested in this scheme, then private message me.
Also, if you have been are out of work and have been for less than 12 months then we contact me and i can register you with Goodwin whereby we will look for vacancies for you, and if needed, offer you the chance of free training to extend your skills.

Hi James!
Sounds like a great and useful scheme.
I know it is an O/T thread, but considering that we are nearing the end of our season, perhaps such a useful thread (and similar) could be made a 'sticky'

Its a fantastic way for companies to help them through a difficult time. Many companies need some staff, but dont have the money to pay them at the moment
as well as the training we can offer staff etc there is a real benefit we are offering to businesses free of charge |

I will bump this for you James. The Goodwin centre do lots of wonderfull things. They have a daycare centre and also run the dula project. They are all really helpfull, well the people I have met are.
