ok, as well as having some attacking problems this season i think our main concern is our defensive line speed, we seem to wait for the opposition rather that get out the blocks and meet them with good solid two or three man tackles, also because we are so slow off the line it only takes a few quick passes to the wings and are scrambling accross and leaving gaps in our line, meeting the opposition quicker would make it alot easier to control the ruck and stop teams getting a roll on against us, i dont know how many times ive seen the opposition gain 70 or 80 metres in a set of six leaving our under sized pack having to get out of our own 20 then having to rely on a weak sh@tty kick. rant over before i start swearing....

Another thing we was doing at the beginning of the season yet seem to have forgot how to do.

We have no line speed what so ever or any aggression in the tackle, we lack any cohesion in defence all together

According to some, our pack holds it's own every week. Hold's it's own dicks maybe whilst getting it's butt $hagged by the opposition forwards

Don't worry though, will be sorted next year when agar has his own team

defensive coach Jon Sharp has been a great addition to the set up, just what does he do with them?!

A slow defensive line speed is fine if you dominate the collision and the tackle. Slowing down the play the ball is essential in any defensive structure. We unfortunately do neither. It narks me even more that we try to clear our lines by running straight back to the ruck area. pass the ball out a couple and have the props waiting there. easy yards.

A good defensive line speed is more easily achievable if the players in that defensive line actually give a fvck.

the first 5/6 games we looked like we had finally started to understand the importance of line speed in defence, then we stopped bothering

Bingo.

As someone else said, defence is 90% attitude.
