Despite the good viewing figures for super league, the RFL will struggle, as they have in the past, to get a significant increases in ££££ off sky for any future contracts, as the viewing figure have been pretty consistant for the past 7-8 years.
The RFL could easily ensure that sky see a significant increase in viewing figure for super league by insisting that no other league game is allowed to clash with any that are being shown on sky, thus maximising the amount of RL fans who can watch the game. It annoys me no end when there are 4 or 5 games played on a Friday night at the same time as the sky game.

for us FC fans who live outside east yorks, friday night games are a dead loss but thats another gripe.
ive heard quite a few non leaguies say they watch superleague on fridays, it shows what an entertaining sport it is compared to the other non football offerings

The same thing is happening in Aus. There Toyota U 20's RL comp is almost on a par with Super 14's for tv viewers. The NRL is miles ahead.
