Not many of them make it to the first team though.

Fair comment, like I said earlier I would not be unhappy with the appointment.

He rather emphatically stated that his coaching days were over just recently - in fact was it on Saturday? I don't think he'll go anywhere near the coaching role myself.

| I'm very glad Agar is gone but I would like to thank him for his efforts over the last 4 seasons. He's had to deal with some crap e.g. No half backs for the majority of his games, Crocker and Hame gate, Tansey and Berro gate. But there's no doubting he's leaving us in much better shape than what he received us.
Good luck Mr Agar.

| Quote PAUL M="PAUL M"Bomber was at Hull FC for the week when AP took over so this was underway from the off.

If used as a proper DOR then his knowledge or SL/NRL aswell as the fact he knows the club very well and commands huge respect means it will be an excellent appointment.
Peter Gentle or Justin Morgan...? It won't be Noble as he would have come as the DOR.
Andy Last as the no.2?'"
McRae need to be "Director of Rugby Operations" or something like that, as you say, clear distinction between him and the head coach of the first team.
Wouldn't want to see Last as number 2, he's had his shot over many years.
McRae
Gentle/Morgan
Fitzgibbon as number 2
New U20's coach (Radford??)
New Conditioner (s)
New Physio(s)
New Nutritionist
Sports Psychologist
the whole club playing similar systems across the piece.

I agree. The measure of the success of the U20's is first team players not U20 league positioning. Whether the lack of players coming through is down to Last or Agar not playing them is another matter.

The thing is though Last can't [umake [/uthe head coach pick them, all he can do is train them & coach them at u20 level, which he seems to be good at.

Don't disagree with that, Fitz will go home to the Roosters I imagine.

probably, and who could blame him, but it would be great to get a true number two in, someone who is heir apparent from day one.

| Bomber won't be anything to do with the coaching side of things, it states clearly on the website:
"Shaun will be responsible for all aspects of the playing side at the club and will operate as a Director of Hull FC. His duties will encompass the recruitment of a new First Team Coach for Hull FC who will be installed in the position at the latest by 1st November 2011.
Although not taking up official employment until 1st October 2011, Shaun will be immediately responsible for the completion of the recruitment process for a new Head Coach of Hull FC. This new appointment will be announced as soon as the recruitment process can be completed."
