Obviously you're at an advantage to me, as I don't know what he was paid nor what other fullbacks around SL are paid for a suitable comparison.

| Shame he's left mid-season but I'm definitely in the 'blessing in disguise' camp longer-term. He's got a bad injury record, couldn't make 1st grade in Oz for parts of his NRL career and he dropped some stinking brain farts. But I accept most on here tolerated that because he did offer something different in attack.
Would be happy with Horne as replacement FB provided we got a top drawer 6 in.

| He was the best thing since sliced bread when you signed him, shame it hasn't worked out for him.
Did he bring his wife and kids over with him? Presumming he has them.

| A shame to lose a player mid-season, but it was a bit daft signing up a 30-year old who was never more than solid in the NRL for 3 years. I wouldn't be surprised if Hull sign Minicello for next year.
I seriously hope McKinnon joins the Tigers, because Moltzen is sometimes almost embarrassing to watch at fullback. He does some good things, but in a couple of games he has looked like a scared kid under the high ball.

| Pretty pee'd off with McKinnon tbh, this smacks of I got a better offer elsewhere now so actually I'll get the wife to say she isn't settling well..absolute rollocks
Will he be paying the club some sort of release fee seeing as he's now left us right in the lurch!
he doesn't go with my blessing at all as he has reneged on a contract/deal to serve the club as an employee.
He's a grown up & I assume his wife is to, so with the best will in the world they would know it isn't going to be anything like the same over here as it is back home. Even then that's no reason to break a contract in that way, not a good enough reason for me..sorry but people like that get right up my nose. He could have least seen the season out
I really liked him from what I'd seen, a right character and an excellent natural fullback (warts and all) but clearly hasn't got a pair..sorry but that's how I feel

He's not wrong though, does say a lot about him when he can't even see the season out for us. When he rolls up at FB for Wests in the next couple of weeks I'm sure it will just be coincidence.

| kearney is a vv good player at bradford, and has stood out since he signed, even playing most of his time with arguably the worst backline in the league (last couple of seasons). I think you will seriously struggle to sign a better fb, and certainly one that is settled here. v good influence in the dressing room by all accounts as well.
Im unsure on crookes, hes kicked on this year and if he carries would be a good signing. That been said, he was looking like hed be playing at sheffield until recently, and struggled to break out of the u21s up until the last 12months. Think I wanna see him perform for a longer period as a bradford fan before deciding to throw any money at him

Why sign a 3 year deal in the first place then? no research on Hull and England prior to moving, pretty basic stuff on any big move.
Or he that under thumb that he scuttles back.
Don't defend him he's embarrassed himself and proved to be an absolute wet blanket.

Some people just cannot hack being away from home, and the only way they find it out is by being away from home. As far as calling him a wet blanket that's a bit harsh.

| I'm disappointed Wade is leaving so soon as I thought a 31 year old guy would at least see out 6 months....but these things happen....I remember when Kath and Rule were meant to be in Oz scouring the market...it seems clear they offered stupid money to Wade, Seymour and Heremia as they were that desperate to recruit in their positions....
The only crumb of comfort I can take from how I feel now is imagine if he announced he was going six months in under the previous regime?! Does not bare thinking about. I trust Gentle and McRae to react to this....we may just have to wait until the summer for a new specialist fullback who wants to stay and play for FC.
Kearney would be an interesting option as I like him in attack but need to watch far more of him defensively before casting an opinion.

| the amount of points a good fullback saves you is hugely overated- one on one tackles when the attacker has no support is rare. The amount of points one generates in attack is much more important, and whilst kearney is not amazing defensively, he doesnt stand out as extremely poor.
not sure who you would prefer, but i hope you go for someone else

| I seem to recall pre-season that one of our new signings was having doubts about coming over after Gentle was announced as coach.
I do wonder if it was doubts over Mckinnon and that he and Gentle don't see eye to eye.
He's been one of best players this year and it seems strange why he'd walk away from a lucrative contract by all accounts after only 6 months. More to it then home sickness to me.

so he didn't see eye to eye with gentle yet gentle chose to play him every game he was fit never dropped him when he could have played horne at fb or signed a replacement earlier?
Don't understand why people cant accept the he and his family struggled to settle here. it doesn't make him a wimp or a bottler. like it or not rugby is only a game and your families happiness is miles more important than any game

When you've got players wives supposedly telling all that that isn't true and FC need to stop lying to their fans then questions will be asked.

what would you suggest?
banning players wives from supposedly talking?
I happy with how the clubs communicate with us at the minute and i dont have an issue with them denying that mckinnon was homesick whilst they discussed options.
even if gentle and mckinnon have fallen out do you honestly expect a statement saying they've fallen out?

well said, what happened did he say he was going out for a paper one morning and didnt come home or something, next she hears he is in hull????
not a chance, he should have thought it out before he left end of story, brittle backbone IMO and proper stuck a finger up at the club IMO.
Never mind all the namby pamby PC bollox some are spouting, HE LET US DOWN END OF STORY!!
And yes before another ferkwit asks, i have lived away from my family of three kids for months at a time ongoing for last 29 years, try marine engineering / repairs all over the planet.

| Dont know if this has any relevance to it, and is something my mum noticed at the Huddersfield away game.
Mckinnon and Seymour had a big argument after the game on the pitch. Mckinnon walks off the pitch, walks back on like a man on a mission, claps the fans then goes immediately down the tunnel again. Probably nothing, but if he has fallen out with other players + the weather/wife not here etc then maybe that has helped his decision to go

I have kept quite on this one so far but I agree with you. If you sign a 3 year contract and it means living in another country then go with it. I am told that he did not like the weather - well by the way Wade nor do we. I have a sister who has lived in Perth for the last 22 years and at times the heat is awful but you go with it. As a sportsman you sign a contract for how ever long it is and your family go with you - My Husband also worked away like you did and Armed Forces leave their families but this guy had an opportunity to see a different culture with his family ( I could be talking about Tevez) another looser.
I am told (listen at me) that he thought he was in a sh----ole - now did he mean Hull or England in general do we care in a few years/months in a quiz no-one will remember his name.

I think you are being harsh, not everyone is suited to living abroad or away from the culture they grew up in. And when you start feeling down/low/lonely etc little annoyances can quickly build-up.
