Stockport's Edgeley Park ground was originally a rugby league ground built specifically for Stockport RFC, they being one of the original clubs in the great divide.

I didn't realise that. I really need to read up on the history of rugby league and where it came from. Know very little about it other than some basics!

Interesting to note that in a couple of interviews away from local based journalists Adam Pearson has stated, " We have made personal approaches to people in Hull to join the board and we need to find other individuals that are willing to invest in the squad" Before anyone says that'll be Mally Walker I don't think it will be because every time anyone askes Adam about him he says "I have approached him twice and he's just not interested" Adam always seemed to revel in the one man band approach but now it appears he is in need of some help!!

Staff being made redundant this week.

He's had to invest more money.

Radford works incredibly hard and is a great technical coach.

Still committed and excited about new signings, especially Pritchard.

So basically no new information. Not sure how much clearer he can make the position tbh.

Merging the academy with Rovers and continuing to employ Radford is royaly fooking this club over! Add in clubs poor commercial department, joke board, shocking coaching team and its no surprise its in a mess - a much bigger mess than when Kath and co was here imo. But Pearsons too pig headed to do anything about it and that will be the clubs downfall as far too many fans see through all the crap he peddles.

Well Seb my Mum used to tell me a story about 'The boy who cried wold too often' and this is a classic case of that, because no one believed him when there really was a Wolf until it ate them all!

I think a lot of the fans think its all crap, as it has been in the past and now can't see when it isn't. Why should they anyway?

I agree that he has brought some of this on himself in many ways but more through naivety than intent. The merger is a classic example instead of saying it was a move to save cash we got all that rubbish about how there was no talent about! Hudgell continued yesterday to say it wasn't about saving money, while Adam told a few last weekend that it was.

It seems that asking for voluntary redundancies must have fallen on deaf ears then, so now the next bit unfolds. I don't know what else the bloke can say to convince people, if they want to be convinced at all.

Perhaps those who still don't believe what's happening should talk to a few of the staff instead. Getting worse by the day it appears but some won't accept it, some never will, personally I find it very worrying its going to be a long winter, with this and the continued pressure from 'The home of the Tigers' making it more and more difficult to make money. latest 'rumour' is strictly tickets only available in advance and none available on the day next year. So I'm a bit worried but as I say that's just my personal view!

Always backed pearson but the guy is losing the plot and will be losing more fans with idiotic statements like that.The fans have stuck with his next season will be the season bull for how long.After the leeds play off we all loved the "never again will this club come to leeds and be embarrassed,and scraping into the play offs will not be excepted "speech ( unless its 2015 and thats our main aim ). We've had the building a british based side with future internationals speech ( which means overpaying unproven players on long contracts then having to pay them off,or its 2016 and we need to look to the nrl for our recruitment).Then we got the home grown wigan approach with the club hull speech ( until we decide to merg our academy with our biggest rivals despite more lads stepping up to first grade than ever) . Throughout all these false dawns and grand statements we've turned up more times than the team. Now he pulls out his ace card "the fans who don't renew their passes are killing this club". I'm not disputing it won't have a drastic effect on the club but to lay it at the fans feet is a joke..I'd ask the question if he's been watching the same team as me. If he has it can't be to hard to see why people aren't renewing anymore. Sorry adam but this situation is down to you more than us. Best intentions? Yes. Terrible decisions? Yes Trouble ahead? Most definitely

Not knocking his comitment but its not the fans that have put us in this situation. Its largly down to the decisions he has made. Yes he put his trust is some people who never repaid that trust but those were still his decisions,not the fans. I hope and prey it all finally comes good for him but he's the man who appoints the guy in charge of recruitment and the head coach. Don't expect everyone to agree but i know i won't be the only fan upset at that comment.

Its not the fans who got the club into this mess but it seems only the fans can get it out of it.

Time to stand up and be counted. I'm in.

I agree and he's p----ing every one off with his fazes he flips more than a dice .
If he wants help sell us the fans some of the club that way we have a voice even if only 5/10 percent divided over say 5000 supporters but no he's to much I'm right and you all know nowt type.

Of course if Radford did the decent thing and resigned there would be no cost of paying him off, then Pearson could appoint a good coach and sell loads of passes. Problem solved.

Radford would then be the man who saved the club.

It won't happen of course but its a nice idea.

Call me cynical but could this be the spin and excuse that leads to a full on merger with KR.

I agree we need to stick with the club but feel there is now a devide developing between pearson and the fans and comments like today will not see the disgruntled fans returning.i'm just preying we do pull a magic season out of somewere to halt this slide.

seems all the more bizarre that Pearson should give up (if he did resign) a very well paid job with Leeds when he is complaining about putting more personal money into the club.
Should also have had more to say about extending Yeamans and possibly Fekas contract and the nonsense signing of Washbrook which would have saved a few bob or paid for a quality wing or centre which we are truly missing

My view entirely. If we really are in such a state there have been truly incomprehensible decisions made in recent months which will have significantly worsened things. Why commit to high value, long term deals for players if the money isn't there to pay them? The person making these decisions is either an idiot or a liar

A drop in attendances of 1k per year for 4 years adds up to at least £2.5m in income. A tidy sum.
He didn't say these new guys are not affordable, but a key income stream is not generating the kind of money needed to maintain this level of investment over the longer term.

A better product on the pitch will increase the walk up gate next season and generate more pass sales in 2017.
