The term first appeared in the 16th century and enjoyed its greatest popularity in the 18th and early to mid-19th centuries. Since then it has fallen into disuse. Most likely unaware of the word's history, modern writers who recoin the term seem to like how it sounds, even though it adds nothing in meaning to its workhorse counterpart, agreement. The suffix ‐ance indeed is used in English to form many nouns from verbs some more words we don't use anymore. it would be nice to see some of these used on this forum, especially as a few seem to be particularly relevant to certain posters

| We'll never hit 12,500 as people want, with the closures and putting the away fans in the east.
we only have 12000 seats on offer to home fans

We manage to take plenty across the country for night matches, such as Saints last week
I doubt that anyone went on train, either.'"
Okay maybe Swathes was the wrong word but Thursday and Friday night games is a limiting factor for away fans particularly from the west of the pennines.
That said Both FC and KR fans travel away in tremendous numbers, always have and should be given kudos from the RL fraternity.
Aside from the east of the river visit there are no 'close' fixtures for us, Catleford being the closest at 48 miles and Widnes 120 miles away.
By comparison West Yorkshire teams have 3 others between 8-19 miles, the 5 red rose lot have 7-23 miles to travel.
Which goes to show how great our fans are.
God knows how many miles the few Catalans away supporters do!

The trick will be to open more stands when the demand is there.
The North Stand is already being opened for the Rovers home game.

Be interesting to know what our lease agreement covers, if the SMC have reduced the capacity has there been a reduction in cost?

It's all a nonsense, I understand West Upper not being open, but the rest of the ground should be open as it was when we first moved in, the SMC is a complete joke and still biased toward City. (IMHO)

Not necessarily as its already been mentioned that next season if Cuty are still in the Championship then the Upper West will be closed for Citys home games which is just a farce.
The Allams may well be successful in the world of Generators but when it comes to Pro Sports Clubs, Stadiums and Public Relations they are proving to be sadly lacking.
The Council should have if they do not want the responsibility of running the KC Stadium should have tendered this out to companies that specialise in this type business or ensured that both Hull City & Hull FC had a member on the board of the SMC along with HCC themselves. This then leaves the SMC having total transparency and no hidden agendas, this method has been successfully done by Swansea with the running and management of the Liberty Stadium.

In fairness to HCC (and that pains me to say) FC were offered a place on the SMC but Richardson etc all decided they couldn't afford/weren't willing to take the offer.
SMC should always have been independent of either tenant.

Thats my point if HCC couldnt get both clubs on the B.O.D then it should have been totally independent with neither club having anyone involved in the running/management or decision making of the Stadium. Thats why I said that HCC should have ensured that both clubs had representation or put it out to tender for an independently run Stadium.
