| Fair enough.
But 6th best is not good enough, although it probably reflects the standard of play and creativitity at the moment.

| Quote ="Mr. Zucchini Head"Look, I'm not saying that it doesn't matter if we drop down the table. I am saying that as of now, we are the 6th best side in the country, and this is proven by the table. Tbf saying that it's irrelent wasn't a very good choice of words. But it doesn't change the fact that even if we do slide down the table we were the sixth best side in the first half of the season, and therefore havn't been quite as bad as people have made out. What we do in the second half of the season doesn't change that fact.'"
No we are not we are 6th in the table at present, they are not the same thing. If we are the 6th best team then how come Warrington who are below us recently beat us at home? We are a poor team despite our current position, surely you can see that. We all love this club and the fact that we are arguing amongst ourselves shows the passion we all have for it, but things need to change and burying your head in the sand will not help one bit.

| Quote ="carl_spackler"I really don't understand why this is. I started watching in the Sharks era. We were garbage at times but I still felt like the players gave it a go and I was entertained and enjoyed going. Nowadays I endure the game rather than enjoy, yet if I feel like stopping going until the board change things, or even in the hope that enough fellow fans will do the same to force the board to act, I'm not a good enough fan?
Apparently, to be a 'proper fan' I have to part with substantial money to do something I don't enjoy and receive nothing in return. Can anyone give me a good reason/explanation why this should be?
I can tolerate many shortcomings in the team, be it players who aren't quite good enough but make up for it in effort, having a lack of the necessary resources to make improvements, even being shafted by forces genuinely out of the club's control. What I am growing tired of though is the club being one of the best positioned in almost every aspect but failing to capitalise by doing things in a half-ar$ed way.'"
Absolutely spot on, why do people constantley think there awesome fans for supporting such crap. I regular watche dus get dicked in 99 and even watched us play in the lower divisions for a few seasons. Going since 94 I've expiernced more bad then I have good. The difference now is that we have the ability to be one of the top sides in the country, yet we just seem happy to have a board who take our money in exchange for excuses. When our passion is matched on the field and in the board room I may start to reconsider my decision.
Anyone who dare to say to me the any kind of wether bull can go and themselves considering half of them probably didn't care when they really was needed.

| Quote ="Mr. Zucchini Head"And I suppose everyone turning their back on the club will make us into an irresistable force?
It's got feck all to do with settling for mediocrity, I want this club to blow everyone out of the water every game, of course I do, but it doesn't happen like that. People seem to be able to come up with plenty of faults with Hull FC but no one has any answers, lets sack the coach and get rid of the dead wood half way through a season, thats great, but who is going to replace them? People are tied down to contracts and teams don't want to let their best players leave half way through the season. You can't just wave a magic wand and make everything okay.
Realistically there is nothing fans can do to help the club. Do you honestly think that just because people don't renew their passes the board will think, "oh dear, we need to buy a team of superstars to get them back on our side?" As a fan all you can do it support the team, thats what I intend to do and thats what everyone should be doing if they want to make a difference.'"

Dunno. Maybe the same reason some seem to feel superior because they don't want to?
Think everyone needs to calm down a bit on this issue TBH. Just about everyone on here wants us to do well, is frustrated at the way things are going, and has different ideas about how fans can best try and do something about it.
Knocking lumps out of each other isn't really achieving anything.

Don't see anyone thinking there more superior in that aspect ?
If people want to keep going to games fine by me but don't question my loyalty/passion over this. ( not a direct comment at you Kosh)

I think that calling these people 'mugs' and saying that they're 'settling for mediocrity' probably qualifies, don't you?

I have some sympathy with both points of view TBH.

| I think most people can see that we need a top coach, good scrum half, good centre and tackle busting prop.
I also think that JR probably knows this - but his primary remit from the board would be to safe guard our investment and to make a profit. If you can do this by playing good rugby within a set budget all well and good.
The off field development of the club has been very good and will hopefully benefit the club in years to come.
We are now at a crossroad where we are playing poor rugby and crowds will start to fall - resulting in the the boards primary objective not being met. - I think that this will result in one of two things a) cut and run and sell to the highest bidder (someone has to have deep pockets because RL clubs dont usually run at a profit) or b) try to change things on the park and hope revenue increases.
there is a third option but my mind wont go there - the board sit tight watch revenues decline and cut the operating/playing budget .
Solution god knows I just pray

| The fact is it is a personal choice thing, no rights or wrongs.
I love rugby and support FC so I will carry on , the only other options are if people love rugby but they are discontent with the way things are at FC they have the option to go and watch KR, (personally a choice not for me).

| As things stand I would not renew my pass.
I've been a passholder for most of the past 30 years with only a few years break due to work commitments. The problem is everything is being done on the cheap and there is no entertainment value from the rubbish being served up on the pitch. I'm getting to the stage where although I've got a pass for this season I can't be bothered to make the 130 mile round trip to watch 5 drives, a poor kick and baffling interchanges. I mean, it's only six miles to Headingley for me and I couldn't justify spending the ticket money to myself as I knew we'd get hammered.
Thing must change quickly. Taxi for Agar, Sharp and Thorman please.

Good post. Like it or not the board have to see the club as a business, and run it like one, we are in debt and even though we are turning over a lot of money we are not really in a position to be throwing big money at players. Off field we are probably the best side in Superleague and over the next few years we should see the benefits. That said there is a fine line, and money does need to be spent to strengthen the side, because if we don't improve on the field the reality is that the crowds will drop and the good work will be set back.

| It's about opinion isn't it? No one is right or wrong.
We're all passionate about the club and that's why our frustrations are boiling over at the minute. We all want the same thing.
I continue to go like I did last night and will do so for the rest of the season and probably until I'm unable to get there. I've been watching the team for 30yrs and it's just become the norm. I can why some of you think I'm a "mug" or an "idiot" for throwing my money away but that's my choice and as sad as I am I can't stand the fact of not been at a game supporting the team even during these times. Saying all that I also can see why some people no longer want to spend their hard earned cash on watching Hull at the minute and I certainly don't think I'm a bigger fan than them. It's about personal choice.

| Quote ="pmarrow"How many people are seriousley considering not renewing there passes for next season ? Alot of people I have talked to over the past few weeks have all said they are choosing games or not going for the forseeable future. I have friends not attending games who are pass holders, a friend who has given his pass away and these are people who have in the past brought extra people to games with them.
In this current moment in time I need every penny I get to fund a course I am currentley going on, with the price rise of everything going on I can no longer see a Season pass as a priority for me. The prices will probably go up ( a joke in itself) and for what we are getting in return seems like they are taking the biscuit.
Unless something improves throughtout the team I am no longer going to spend money on passes, shirts or waste my time on a club that seems like it doesn't care. Its being from one thing to another with this club and we quite frankly are getting embarrsed as supporters. We were once some of the loudest and proudest supporters around but over the past few years we have being embarrassed to the point were we are no longer proud to be FC fans. You get that feeling at every home game, the place is in melt down. James Rule its about time you gave up your stupid radio show, your stupid tantrums and do your fooking job.'"
